Assalaam Alaikum

Im not sure if I asked this right but I read somewhere that the older you get at a certain age ...Allah forgives ur past/future sins. All I can remember is that when your 90 yrs of age ur considered prisoner of Allah and you automatically go to Jehennah? Can someone please help me look!?

Salaam.

no I do not think that is true. At age 90 if you die you will be judged just the same as anyone else.

Also what do you mean by Jehennah? lol It looks like a cross between Jannah and Jahannum :S which are u referring to here :S

We should make tawba at any and every age and if we are sincere it in then Allah SWT will accept it from us at any and every age. Do NOT wait until an old age to make tawba because of this rumour that Allah forgives you more at that time.

Also I think whatever ur age, Allah will forgive ur sins if u ask him (tawba) or thru ur doing a deed which is so pleasing to Him that he forgives ur sins. It is not like we have a right over Allah that at age 90 we must be forgiven of everything.

This is a very interesting answer, sister. Is like the brother is scared about reaching old age or something. Lol!

In addition to what sister has said above, its highly recommended that one should worship Allah right from adolescent to old age. And Allah will keep on rewarding you as you keep on doing good, so that as at the time you reached old age, its possible that the rate at which you devout has reduced. Allah will now command the angels to be rewarding you commensurate to your rate of worship while you are strong. For instance, if you always pray the night prayers (nawwafil), and you now find yourself in old age where rising up in the night becomes problematic :D, still the same rewards for the nawwafil will continue to be recorded for you. This is the message Allah is passing to us in Suratu Teen (The Fig).

So dont be scared that Allah will "put you in jahannam" or be carried away for being taking to the paradise should you die at old age, while one has not contribute his quota during adulthood.

May the almighty be our guide.

Yrs of age. I think it was on www.sunnipath.com I couldn't find it anymore. I know I saw it somewhere. I think it was in one of the Hadith. So I was wondering if someone knows what im talkin about? I meant to say heaven in arabic (jehnna). ;)

Found it!

"No one reaches forty years in Islam except that Allah protects him from madness, leprosy and leucoderma. When he is fifty, Allah makes easy his reckoning. When he reaches sixty, Allah grants him repentance. And when he reaches seventy, Allah loves him and the inhabitants of the heavens love him. And when he reaches eighty, Allah accepts his good deeds and overlooks his sins. When he reaches ninety, Allah forgives his past and future sins, he is named 'the prisoner of Allah on earth' and is granted intercession (for forgiveness) for his family." (Hasan, Ibn 'Asakir. Ahmad Shakir said in his notes to Al-Musnad (8/23,25): "Its chain is at least Hasan. It is supported with other chains which raise it to the level of Saheeh.")

:)

I went through the link and to be frank, I have never read this hadith in my life. However, considering the personality of Imam Ahmad Shakir, a leading figure in the science of Hadith, I have to go back to my books in order to look up for the chain of transmitters (isnad).

Thank you for this post, really interesting.
