Prophet Aadam (alayhi salam)

His name is written in Arabic as آدم
He (as) was the first human to be created by Allah SWT and he was made from the elements of clay. He was a farmer by trade.
When he (as) was created, Allah SWT asked the angels to bow down to him (as) but Iblis (a Jinn who was worshipping with the angels) refused out of pride and arrogance. He said that he would not bow down to Adam (AS) because Adam (AS) was made of clay, whereas he was made of fire, and fire is greater than clay. Allah (SWT) expelled him from Jannah (heaven) and deprived him of all Divine favors. He requested Allah (SWT) to allow him to exist till the day of Judgment so that he could take revenge on Adam (AS) by leading him and his progeny astray and prevent them from following the right path. From that day, Iblis came to be known as Shaytan (Satan).

This incident is mentioned many times in our Qur'an :

2:34 And behold, We said to the angels: "Bow down to Adam" and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

7:11 It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who bow down.

17:61 Behold! We said to the angels: "Bow down unto Adam": They bowed down except Iblis: He said, "Shall I bow down to one whom Thou didst create from clay?"

18:50 Behold! We said to the angels, "Bow down to Adam": They bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrong-doers!

20:116 When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused.

and we are also warned in the Qur'an that this Shaytan has become our enemy

36:60 "Did I not enjoin on you, O ye Children of Adam, that ye should not worship Satan; for that he was to you an enemy avowed?-

And this is not the only Ayah in which Shaytan is described to us as 3aduwwun mubeen.

In the incident of Adam (alayhi salam) and eating the fruit of the forbidden tree we see an example of how Shaytaan decided to behave with Banii Aadam (the people of Aadam alayhi salam ie human kind)

We are also warned specifically about Shaytan in regards to this incident:

7:27 O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We made the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.

The story is as follows :

When Allah (SWT) created Adam (AS), he warned him from eating the fruit of a tree in heaven.

2:35 We said: "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden; and eat of the bountiful things therein as (where and when) ye will; but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."

7:19 "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."

He also created his companion Hawwa ( in English she is known as Eve).

Shaytan now tried to lead Adam (AS) and Hawwa astray, by trying to make them disobey Allah (SWT). He did this by tempting them to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree that Allah (SWT) had warned them of. Shaytan told Adam (AS) and Hawwa that Allah (SWT) had forbidden them lest they should become angels or immortals. On hearing this, Adam (AS) and Hawwa became curious and began wondering why Allah (SWT) had forbidden them from eating the fruit of that tree and whether Shaytan was telling the truth. Allah (SWT) again warned them by saying that Iblis was an enemy to them and that they should be careful or else they would be thrown out of Jannah (heaven). After this warning they again forgot all about the tree and started living a happy life once again, but Shaytan started pestering them too much.

20:120 But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, "O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?"

This time Allah (SWT) wanted to test Adam (AS) and Hawwa. They eventually became so curious that they disobeyed Allah (SWT) and ate the fruit from the forbidden tree. As a punishment Allah (SWT) took away their clothes. They began covering themselves with the leaves of the trees around them.

20:121 In the result, they both ate of the tree, and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did Adam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced.

Allah then asked them : " Did I not forbid you both from going near that tree and that Shaytan was your enemy". Adam (AS) and Hawwa asked for forgiveness and Allah (SWT), the Forgiving, forgave them but at the same time cast them out from Jannah and sent them down to Earth.

20:122 But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and gave him Guidance.

20:123 He said: "Get ye down, both of you,- all together, from the Garden, with enmity one to another: but if, as is sure, there comes to you Guidance from Me, whosoever follows My Guidance, will not lose his way, nor fall into misery.

2:37 Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration, and his Lord Turned towards him; for He is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

As we can see from these ayaat, it is from Aadam alayhi salam that mankind had the first example of repentence, and his repentence was accepted by Allah swt.

Adam (AS) and Hawwa lived on Earth for the rest of their lives. They taught their children to believe and worship Allah (SWT). Among their children was Sheth (AS), who later became a prophet. They taught them how to distinguish between right and wrong. Thus, Adam (AS) was the first prophet of Allah.

ok insha allah what I am going to do when people add small bits of info like this, is that I will take whoever has started a fresh post about that prophet and edit the info into that one, if this is ok by everyone? So it will be kind of like a group effort but with the info about each prophet coming together in one reply per prophet for clarity?
Already I added that info about he was a farmer, after reading your post, because I had not added that into mine.

Prophet Idris (alayhi salaam)

In English this prophet is known as Enoch and in Arabic his name is written
Idris was born and raised in Babylon following the teachings and religion of Prophet Adam (pbuh) and his son Seth (pbuh). Idris was the 5th generation of the Prophet Adam. He called the people back to his forefathers religion, but only a few listened to him, while the majority turned away.

Prophet Idris and his followers left Babylon for Egypt. There he carried on his mission, calling people to what is just and fair, teaching them certain prayers and instructing them to fast on certain days and to give a portion of their wealth to the poor.

He was the first of the Children of Adam to be given prophethood after Adam and Seth (peace upon them). It is reported that he was the 1st to invent the basic form of writing. Some of his wise sayings are:

Happy is he who looks at his own deeds and appoints them as pleaders to his Lord

None can show better gratitude for Allah's favors than he who shares them with others. Do not envy people for what they have as they will only enjoy it for a short while. He who indulges in excess will not benefit from it. The real joy of life is to have wisdom.

Allah has praised Idris, describing him as being a prophet and truthful: Mention in the Holy Book (Quran) Idris (Enoch). Verily! He was a man of truth (and) a prophet. We raised him to a high station. (19:56-57 Quran).

and he (alayhi salam) was also mentioned in this ayah

'Allah the Almighty declared : Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl, all were from among those who observe patience. (21:85-86 Quran).'

What is the reason that Harun (Aaron) name is not in the list and replaced by Uzair?
Also Ilyas and Al Yasa sound similar don't you think?

That's all thanks.
