Sitting in my garden, watching the butterflies float on the winds
drinking nectar from the butterfly bushes, first one then another
I sat in awe and amazement and wished to share this wonder with a young child
I called the boy over to have him sit quietly with me and watch one of God's creatures
in all of it wonder and glory going about it's life as it was born into
First one, then two, three, four and more appeared upon the bush
I asked the child what his thought's were about this wonder in front of his eyes.
The reply I received was " I hope the CAT will catch and eat one ". :(
So it is within the mind and eye of the beholder that which is beautiful and worthy of existence.
Where I saw freedom and a chance at a full and exciting life,
traveling freely from Canada to Mexico on the winds,
this child only wished to see a violent interaction where one creature was supreme over another.
