View Full Version : Born without a name...

On the day of her arrival
No one is there to meet her
Something of a sad one
A girl with permanent tears
Born without a family
Born without a name
All she ever wanted
Was to wipe her tears away
If someone came to love her
And if someone came to be
The one that will protect her
Be a family
Now we will see a smile again
And tears like dreams can be
Something we will never see
Lost in her memory
She’s something of a tragedy
Stands in the shade of despair
I want to cast some light onto her world
A world of permanent tears
Born without a family
Born without a name
Free this weeping willow
from drowning in a flood of tears

People keep on asking
whether this poem is real or not
If reality, it's lacking
then give it your best shot
Write a poem that's 100% true
A poem Everybody would agree upon
See if it ever gets through
Just watch your every pun.
when Words met Imagination
The two decided to conjoin
Poetry was the creation
of those different sides of the same coin.
If you truly know what poetry is
you would never ask if a poem is real
Actually It doesn't take a whiz
To describe how you truly feel.
nor does it take a lot of energy
to realise the whole deal.
When poetry speaks
people should listen
Don't question its techniques
And its value don't lessen.

I didn't mean you alone, as others always ask the same question.
ps: I didn't even show the real 'offensive_me' side, was being the friendliest I could be ;)
But surely part of why poetry is written is to engage others, to make them think and react? It might be useful sometimes to let people do that.
So to all those who want to know if it's "real", just start thinking about in how many instances around the world it could be. Baby born to outcast HIV infected mother, baby born into starving family in Niger, child born into unloving abusive family anywhere in the world, girl baby born in India and left alone to die, girl baby born to single mother in UK and left in wastebin.......
Just start thinking about what the author wants to convey and why and how you feel.. Poetry is about our feelings. It's about what makes us human. No family is a reality for many and arrivals and departures can often be times of emotion reminding us all of the other arrivals and farewells in our lives and ultimately the two most important ones, during which of course we're all alone, our entry into the world and our exit from it, our birth and our death.
