:jkk: for marking it sis :) a quick question, apart from the obvious ones, how do i know when something is feminine or masculine, i should've known the cat one, i've even used it correctly somewhere, but there's lots of words which don't seem masculine/feminine. Is it something we got to pick up? I understand that all ta marbuta words are feminine.

I'm just going to redo the one that I got wrong so I can come back to it, so you can ignore, unless i do it wrong again :S

Exercise One:

هذه قطّة

Exercise Three:

هل هذه سارة؟ لا,هذه ليلى

هل هذا الطالب مجتهد؟

The main rule, as you already picked up is the ta marbuta thing
Also if something refers to a female person, even without ending in ta marbuta it is most likely to be feminine... eg Umm (mother) Bint (daughter) or any girls name without ta marbuta such as Iman or Widad etc
Also later you would come accross some words which irregularly are feminine, you jst hav to learn those separately really, but a tip is that often these are "nature" words, like "fire" "earth" (naar and arDH)
Countries names are also feminine.
The main main thing though, is the ta marbuta. If you keep that rule in mind, it will help you most of the time :)
The corrections which u jst did are all fine
