This is a poem I wrote whilst I was a gambler.
May Allah forgive my foolishness.
I hope it's not too dark though!

DANCING WITH THE DEVIL
(by Birol Koc -Aus).
Copyright 1996

Caressed by the devil’s dazzling lights,

I was hypnotized with just one bite.

Solitude, I confided in you.

Sanity suppressed, it’s my mind you screw.

You’re all over, all over me.

Bottled up feelings I can’t set free.

This place is a circus and I am the clown,

Spin that ****ing wheel, I have to break you down.

I begged and borrowed my soul for you.

I lied, I cheated I always came through.

A glass of “Southern” with a monkey chip

Comes your deadly nectar, you tease me with a sip.

I’ve tasted the highs of a gambler’s feeling,

But it’s my life and dignity you are stealing.

You’ve tried to plant you wicked seed

Just let me go, you’ve done your deed.

***Chorus***

Dancing with the devil, it seems so nice,

Fortress of hopes, crash with the dice.

Dancing with the devil, one full moon night

I woke up to reality; I walked away with all my might.

SA.

Thank you guys!
Much appreciated ;)
Some people don't recognise the gambling side of it.
When I ask other people what they think it means, they relate it more to a "relationship" than to gambling.
