I'm a bit unsure so i'll try to do this in stages, sis Anna hope you don't mind :0
Ok if i said:
هذا ابدل
This is Abdul
This is correct? :insha:
Ok will edit this thread as i'm going along :)
And now i'll attempt the exercise :insha:
:salams
Instead of "alif" in "a3bdul," it's actually an "ein." ~Ayah ;)

عبدل
:)
:salams
I guess that would be considered right :p I never understood why ppl name the name "a3bdul" anyway. B/c the thing is, abdul means "slave of/servant of" Therefore, technically speaking, it would be spelled as "ein" "baa" "daal" and then "alif" "lam" with whatever follows the completion of "of." But since there is nothing to follow "of" then it would look wierd to write it that way, hence "ein" "baa" "daal" "laam" looks right, although technically, it doesn't make sense. *cough*
Get what I mean?

Ok... sorry to say this everyone, but can we not have everyone jumping into other people's exercise book threads as we will lose our sense of organisation. If you have something vital to say, ie a correction then ok... Jazak Allahu khayr for ur efforts though, but I am an organisational freak http://ummah.com/forum/images/smilies/tongue.gif and I dnt want ANY off topic chatting in the text book... plz feel free to do it in the Classroom though. I love u all for the sake of Allah and plz dnt take offence!
So... as Ayah said, "Abdul" is not an Arabic name, it should be something like
عبد الله
Abd ullaah (commonly spelt in English as Abdullah)
(slave of Allaah)
as for the rest, correct left in black and mistakes/correction in red insha allah
هذا محمد
This is Muhammad - 'Hadaa' as it's Masculine http://ummah.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
تلك ليلى
That is Layla (Tilka Layla) ~ Feminine
تلك عائشة
That is Aisha (Tilka Aisha) ~Feminine
هذا علي
Hadaa Ali- This is Ali ~ Masculine
هذه نورة
Hadaa Noura ~This is Noura ~ Feminine
Just one for the record
هذه فاظما
lol sis ur name is the only one u got wrong :p
you should write it like this :
هذا محمد
This is Muhammad - 'Hadaa' as it's Masculine http://ummah.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif
تلك ليلى
That is Layla (Tilka Layla) ~ Feminine
تلك عائشة
That is Aisha (Tilka Aisha) ~Feminine
هذا علي
Hadaa Ali- This is Ali ~ Masculine
هذه نورة
Hadaa Noura ~This is Noura ~ Feminine
Just one for the record

assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
1.) This is a cat
هذا قطّة
(Hahdaa Qitaa)
ok sis, what you have to do here is that because QiTTa is feminine (see the ta marbuta) then u need to use haadhihi هذه
2.) That is a dog
تلك كلب
Dhaalika Qalb
here, dog is masculine so you needed dhaalika. You did write that in the transliteration bt if u look at the arabic letters u wrote tilka :p
dhalika is ذلك
3.) Is this a mosque?
هل هذا مسجد
Hal Haadha Masjid?
4.) That is a key
ذلك مفتاح
5.) Is this Saara? No, this is Layla
هل هذه سارا
sara is ended with ta marbuta not alif, otherwise it is right
لا هذه ليلى
6.) Is this student hardworking?
هل هذا طالب مجتهد
what you wrote is "is this a hardworking student?" look at what u did in the next 2 which u did correctly and that is how u need to do it. ie including that al

هذا الولد مجتهد
8.) That boy is Ali
ذلك الولد عليّ
