Question 1.
البيوت كبيرة
الابواب مفتوحة
الكراسي مكسورة
الاولاد المجتهدون طلاب
القمصان جميلة
jst took the extra ya out
Question 2.
These cats are big
The dogs are playing in the shop
The shirts are beautiful
Where are the chairs?
The men are in the mosque and the boys are in the school
Question 3.
قَمِيصٌ
قَمِصان
removed the ya again... make sure u learn the plural correctly, without the ya :)
The root letters are "qaf" "mim" "ya" and "saad"
Roots are 99% of the time made of THREE letters not four. If you see a long vowel like yaa, alif, waw in the middle then its probably not a root letter. Here the root is qaf - meem - saad
I'm not sure you understood the question properly... so maybe I need to cover this more in a new lesson
What you are supposed to do, is make a representation of the plural pattern... so that it could b applied to other words. so the root is qaf meem sad as I just said... so you replace those with fa 3ayn lam and you would end with this :
fu3laan [sorry im away with family so i dno abt arabic typing on this pc :S ]
Can you see how the sound of the words is the same :
qumSaan
fu3laan
كتب
كتاب
Root letters are "kaf" "ta" and "ba"
you got the root letters right this time, but to make the representation you have to replace it with fa 3ayn and lam, like this
fu3ul
and see the rhyme and same sound between fu3ul and kutub
رجال
رجل
Root letters are "ra", "jim" and "lam"
yeah so you have to apply it again...
rijaal
fi3aal
Question 4.
اقلام
اولاد
The last two i attempted but it didn't sound right.
what you did was right... but what about for waraq and film? you have to apply the same pattern... I will let you try it out. Just do exactly as you did with qalam and walad
You seem to be a bit confused with the pattern thing.. so can you tell me what you understand from it etc and I will see what needs to be explained and I'll make a lesson I think. Personally I also found the pattern thing a bit :S when my teachers were doing it at uni. It took a bit of getting used to, but then it can be useful in it's own way...
The first 2 questions were done fine though :D

sorry abt the large font btw!
Lol kinda hit me when i first saw it. No worries.
I dunno it seems pretty confusing, i need to go back to it again and again to get it. And also the next lessons kinda put things into perspective insha Allah.
For the last two words:
فلم - افلام
Root letters are "fa lam mim"
Like افعال
Root letters "fa ayn lam"
ورق - اورق
Root letters are "waw ra qaaf"

yeah u got it right now :)
havent done the lesson on patterns yet, cos my friend needed relative clauses lesson doing but i think it'll come after that... so lesson 19. altho patterns are not the MOST important thing so it is not vital if u are a bit hazy on them, they will prob jst come 2 u naturally after a while but we can still do a little bit of work on the concept insha allah :)
