Subject: [BeautyOFIslam] Request for a Special Dua
Date: Sat, 23 Jul 2005 23:16:23 -0700 (PDT)
AssalamuAlaikum Everyone
Special Dua:
I have recently heard that the brothers held at Quanantamo Bay(some for over 4 years) have been fasting for over 2 weeks now as a protest against the treatment and lack of rights given to them...I request of all the brothers and sisters to take a second and make a special dua for them...A dua for strength and determination...a dua for their forgiveness of any sins they may have...and a dua for their wellbeing and their family's wellbeing...Inshallah we will all(muslims and non-muslims) get through these difficult times in our lives...
Some things to keep in mind:
The belief in Allah(swt) and His prophets(peace be upon them) is one that keeps us all strong and determined to live a life that prepares us and somewhat assuares us of a path to Jannah in the hereafter...One of the things Allah(swt) will do is judge us...There is no Judge greater than Allah(swt)...Therefore, it is very important to keep in mind that regardless of all the faults that we see in one another, we should be very careful about judging them...Only Allah(swt) has the right to Judge us...Only thing we can do is help one another improve our way of life and make it easier for ourselves to find the path to Jannah...Remember that we not true Muslims until we want for our brothers and sisters what we want for ourselves...So with this in mind, take that extra second, take that extra breathe of air, and make an extra effort for Allah(swt) sake...
1. One of the best feelings is to see the youngest member of the family get down one his/her knees and worship Allah(swt)...So take that extra second and have them mimick your actions until they learn for themselves, regardless of their age...
2. Set aside some times and think of ways to get the youth more involved in the Masjid...some ideas are:
-planning a sport event right after fajr prayer...
-having talks at the masjid that can effect the youth directly...
-giving them ideas that they can use in their school MSAs -etc...
3. An excellent idea to bring the youth closer to the Sunna of the Prophet(saw) is to have available Burkha/Hijabs/Galabiyya at the local masjids...It works this way...Many youths don't have access to these clothing, so instead of speaking to them about it, let them try it out...It cost about 20-30 bucks each...They can leave $20 at the masjid and take the clothing home for a week, and once they bring it back washed, they will get their $20 back unless they want to buy it...Inshallah we will start this at our local masjid soon if the Imaan agrees...And I will try it out myself...:-)...
There are many ways to strengthen one another and bring ourselves closer to Allah(swt)...But it all starts with a simple dua that brings the guidance of Allah(swt) upon us...So Inshallah we will all keep our ummah in our duas and strive to make ourselves and our brothers and sister's path towards Jannah an easier one...
AssalamuAlaikum
