AOA everyone,
this is my first post on this forum and inshallah one of many to come as i try to learn and climb my way back to the true faith.
I was particularly interested in posting this since reading the muslim woman with non muslim man thread as I myself am dating a non muslim woman, BUT, before you condem me, I would like to explain a few things and hopefully have you answer a few questions that i have.
Now if i may explain about my relationship, I have been with this woman for a considerable amount of time and am deeply in love with her as she is with me. I met her at a point in my life when I was neither practicing my religion or obeying any of its laws. My gf is a devout catholic and has always tried to follow her religion as best as she could and in seeing her go to church and pray daily through bible reading and quiet contemplation, she has awoken my own need to seek out my religion. Unfortunately many muslims when they hear that i am with a non muslim condemn me, for obvious reasons and so i have had to try and learn about my religion on my own. It is proving difficult to say the least but i am trying. What I am trying to say is that SHE has inspired me to seek my religion, to seek allah in any way i can, and inshallah i am getting to the point where i will also be able to prey daily and ask for forgiveness for my sins.
1. I would like to ask everyones views on this and wether they believe marriage to a non muslim woman who inspires me to seek my religion is permissable.
2. In a muslim marriage to a non muslim woman, does the woman have the obligation to convert? or can she remain with her faith and the man with his?
3. Can children of the mixed marriage be bought up to respect both religions and later be left to choose the path for themselves?
I really appreciate everyones comments and wish you all peace and proserity and protection from the times we live in.
