Salam..

If Allah made the fast on Ramadan obligatory to all Muslims, how could Muslims do this who live close or near the polar circle?
There the sun does not rise or set at times including during the time of Ramadan.

Now of course one could say a Muslim could move farther south as the earth is wide..but why would Allah then say that Islam is for the entire world and all mankind?
Are the northern regions not Allah's domain?

No Muslim can ever live close to the polar circle?
How do you explain this?

second question

So..how do you explain this?
I have asked another Muslim friend about this and she said that when there is 24 hour darkness or light, the Muslim should keep to the times in Saudi Arabia, but how on earth would primative people be able to know the time in Saudi Arabia?

And more important....is there actually a mention of this in the Qu'ran?
Or is the Saudi rule something pieced together by hadiths?
Or is it simply no longer obligated for Muslims to fast during Ramadan if they live in these polar regions?
And if so..why would Allah make it an obligation in the first place?

Does Allah mention this fact at all in the Qu'ran ?
A verse comes to mind that says that the sun will not outstrip the day etc.

People would die if they followed the rules.
Surely Allah can't be so cruel?
