It Rolls Down Your Face (Poetry)
By: Afia Choudhury
What rolls down your face?
But never rolls back up?
I know what you mean.
But that is nothing for me to stop.
Why does it roll? I wonder.
I know not, I surrender.
Have you ever heard of sadness.
That gives birth through your heart?
Have you ever been sad?
I ask you for a start.
If flows like a river,
And enters the sea,
Where stopping,
It is too hard for me.
Trouble, what’s troubling me?
I wonder all along.
I cannot express,
The story is far too long.
It’s like a legend,
Where it’s strange but true.
It’s not a legend that is untrue.
Hands go up,
And tears fall down,
‘Help me my Lord’
As I fall to the ground
