Two sisters on the rota so far. If you cant do it, please at least pass this on to as many people as you know.
Assalamualaiakum warahmatullah
I pray you are all well. I received a phone call last night from the
organisation Stop Political Terror. As you know the Government have recently
introduced control orders as a substitute to detaining brothers in prison indefinitely.
There is a brother who has recently moved to Bowes rd (Arnos Grove near Southgate, Woodgreen, Palmers Green) and is subject to a
control order. He has no family here.
SPT has asked me if I could contact sisters in the local area who would be
kind enough to cook a meal for this brother on a regular basis.
In other parts of London sisters have arranged a rota and Insha’Allah I would
like to arrange something similar. All you would have to do is ring his
doorbell and leave the meal outside, there is no contact with the brother as
visitors have to be vetted by the police.
If you would be interested in helping pls contact me. Insha’Allah once i have
a rota in place I will contact the brother to let him know what days we will
be leaving a meal. Even if we can help in this very small way two to three
times a week, I am sure he will really appreciate a home cooked meal.
It would also be nice if you know of any brothers who are willing to visit him
InshAllah. (If being vetted is worrying- understandably- so long as you do not physically communicate with the brother, there is no need for it, ie you can speak to the brother on the phone with out having to be vetted. Contact me for his number)
