Panel Debate - Global Banking System - On Trial
For its admirers, the modern banking system is an engine of economic growth, efficiently intermediating between savers and depositors. It employs a large part of the workforce in well paid jobs and in many countries generates substantial export earnings.

Tarek El Diwany a Muslim Economist and Author of 'The Problem with Interest'.
Evan Davis,the Economics Editor BBC. He is also the co-author of the Penguin Dictionary of Economics and the New Penguin Dictionary of Business.
