:salams everyone,

So far during my salats, after surah al-fatiha I only recite suras between surah Al-phil and surah An-Nas. However, now I am thinking of reciting some other parts of the quran in my salats.

My question is that, is it ok to recite part of a surah during salat (because most of them are too long) ? If so, then are there any rules for selecting a portion of the quran I want to recite during my salats (like starting/ending, length of the portion etc.) ? Or can I just recite ayats from any place of the quran of any length ?

Erm..no one knows the answer ?

Which suras' do you read during your salats ?

(Or is my question not clear enough ? )

You should read at least one long ayah in each ruku or three short ayahs...

In regards to how randomly you can choose the ayats, its best to stay in order of the qur'an don't read from a surah which is before the one you read in your first rakat

Yes...I knew that...Thanks for your reply simmy. :)

However, I do have a followup question. So, is it ok, if I recite, for example, part of sura yaasin during my salats ?
