UK Islamic Events for Friday 15th April 2005
Assalámu'alaikum wa Rahmatulláhi wa Barakátuhu.
The purpose of this noticeboard is to advertise Islamic events taking place within the UK. These include lectures, regular circles, classes and sports activities, as well as one-off seminars, conferences and exhibitions. We also put up notices for accomodation, jobs, items for sale, Islamic projects, schools, counselling services, etc. Many of you will already be familiar with the noticeboard, having received weekly e-mails over the last year. We are open to all Muslims and you are welcome to advertise any event as long as it is Islamic in nature and does not harm the interests of others. We look forward to your participation.

****************************SPECIAL NOTICE*****************************
Islamic Circles Presents:
WE ARE WHAT WE DO
with David Robinson (Community Links) & Abu Muntasir (JIMAS)
Date: Sunday 17th April 2005
Time: 11am - 1pm
Venue: Froud Centre, 1 Toronto Avenue (on the corner with Romford Rd),
Manor Park, London, E12 5JF
There will be an exclusive launch and signing of the book "We Are
What We Do" written by David Robinson.
We Are What We Do is a new initiative which inspires people to
use their everyday actions to change the world. It is a project
of Community Links - a charity which tackles the causes and
consequences of social exclusion in East London and shares
these local experience with practitioners and policy makers
nationwide.
Each of us has the power to make a difference and, if enough
people do the same thing, the cumulative effect will ultimately
bring change to the world. 'We Are What We Do' tries to inspire
others to use their simple, everyday actions to change the world.
In doing this, they have brought together an extraordinary cross
section of people from all backgrounds and experiences. Creative
people, business people, politicians, school children, teachers,
writers, friends, family, journalists, community workers and
communications gurus. One such project is the book that will be
launched at this event.
Muslims, because of our short-sightedness, sometimes tend to
overlook people who genuinely want to do good in the world.
Not all people who want to help have a Socialist agenda nor
are they part of some Zionist conspiracy or a plot for world
domination. There are some simple people out there who want to
make a change. Many of their actions actually complement the
Sunnah of our Prophet (saw). If we really open up our hearts
and search for the truth, we will see this. Given that we are
now in the month of Rabi'al-Awwal, it would be an opportune
moment to re-read the Biography of the Prophet Muhammad (saw)
in a wholesome manner, where we will come across individuals
who did not become Muslims yet helped the Prophet (pbuh),
especially his uncle, Abu Talib.
Sometimes the most beneficial and inspiring reminders are the
ones that we take for granted - not just topics that we enjoy
listening to, e.g. Marriage, Dajjal or Jinn related issues.
Do come along to the event, its FREE and therefore won't break
your budget. Show your support for what promises to be a very
beneficial and eye-opening presentation, insha'Allah.
