He may have never leaped tall buildings in a single
bound but has a sweet smile even after every
treatment, every test, needle stick and poke
His strength is not that of lifting cars with a single hand
but lies in his unflinching determination to stay alive
He may not be able to see through walls, or see much
at all, but he knows when those that love him are near
He may not be able to run at lightning speeds or even
walk but he sure stands tall and proud in his mother's
arms.
He may not be able to climb walls with his bare hands,
but he reaches the top of the mountains each day he
battles his illness.
Some people may not call him a "Champ" in the boxing
ring, but in the ring of life, he takes blow after blow,
punch after punch and seems to always say,
"Go ahead, one more round"
He teaches me that life is full of ups and downs,
but there is always room for a smile.
He is a fighter
He is a survivor
He is my hero
