Changing Fields of Pain Into Fields of Peace

Let us sit down together in this field of pain,

and let us talk of things

which bring peace.

Let us sit down together in this field of pain,

and let us talk seriously

for if we do not,

it is all of us who must suffer.

The truth is

that when we get angry,

we always hurt one of our own?

The truth is,

that when we fight in anger,

we end up destroying

the very things we are fighting to save.

Anger knows no logic.

Violence knows no friend.

Let us sit down together in this field of pain

and stop the anger,

and end the violence.

Let us sit together in this field of pain,

for when we stand

we are not equal.

Let us sit together in this field of pain,

for when we sit

we can not fight.

Let us sit together in this field of pain,

and let us talk of things

which bring peace.

The wise person

is not the highly educated person

for often the least educated

are the most wise.

The wise person

is not the most powerful person

for often the powerless

are the most wise.

The wise person

is not the richest person,

for often the poorest

are the most wise

and the most generous.

The wise person is the one

who has the confidence to listen.

The wise person is the one

who can see the way to peace.

The wise person is the one

who can see a friend

within the enemy.

The wise person is the one

who cares about the dignity

of each and every person

and of their right to live with happiness.

Let us sit down and listen

without thought of education

without thought of power position

without thought of wealth.

Let us sit down in this field of pain

and let us be wise.

Let us sit down and meditate

about our land

about our history

about being one people.

Listen carefully to the voice of the poor

for in that voice may be great wisdom,

the wisdom needed to bring peace,

the wisdom needed to bring harmony

to this field of pain.

God has made us as one family.

A broken family can only suffer.

Let us sit down in this field of pain

and talk of peace

for if we have no peace

we have no dignity,

and without dignity

we all must suffer.

We are brothers!

We are sisters!

We are one family!

Let our conflict end this day

as we sit in this field of pain.

Let our conflict end this day

as we talk of things which bring peace,

as we listen to each other with respect,

as we seek ways to protect each other

to protect our land,

to protect our way of life.

Let this field of pain breath a sigh of relief

as we agree to protect it

to preserve it

to save it from our own blood.

Here, within this field of pain

lies our inheritance.

For generations this inheritance

has fed us,

has nurtured our culture,

has brought life to our families,

has given our nation dignity.

Let us sit down in this field of pain,

and let us meditate

on this inheritance.

As we sit together in this field of pain,

let us not think -

that one is a police

that one is a radical

that one is an official

that one swore at me

that one threatens national peace.

Rather, let us think -

that one will become my friend

that one will understand me

I will understand that one

I will join with all of them

to change this field of pain

into a field of peace and happiness.

Let us sit down together in this field of pain,

and let us meditate quietly

let us meditate with compassion

let us meditate with wisdom.

Every field of pain

is created by people.

Every field of pain

must be changed into fields of peace

by people.

Let us sit down together in this field of pain.

Let us meditate together.

Let us listen to each other.

Let us put aside anger.

Let us see peace in each other.

Let us once again be sisters.

Let us once again be brothers.

No solution is impossible

if we listen carefully

if we speak respectfully

if we have wisdom

if we truly care for people and environment.

Let us sit down together in this field of pain

and promise each other

we will not get up from here

until this field of pain

has changed into a field of hope and peace.

I hope you have the appropriate certificates & documentation, you do realise that keeping un-registerd monkeys is a criminal offence.

Wouldn't look good on your CV when applying to the UN, if they saw you had been in trouble with the RSPCA for monkey business.

:D
