Its been interesting to read on your forum the attitude towards gay practices. I think the voices of tolerance although well meaning are fundamentally flawed. These behaviours are complex, peoples ideologies affect the way they see gay people. But increased tolerance only leads to increasing gay behaviour. Give em an inch they'll take..

Look at the jewish and christian communities - there is an epidemic of homosexuality amongst jewish women, lesbian synagogues are a major problem. I think the muslimgroups have always tried to stick to the truth and if its harsh so be it.

If you're not careful you too will end up with militant gay rabbis and bishops and it'll turn your religion into a joke like it did to mine. Much of the jewish problems started with liberal syagogues and female rabbis - things have gone downhill since. Please do not think I am being sexist but there are feminists who think they speak for all women when their actions are about personal career development.

I have also come across the fact that it seems a disproportionate number( most actually) of lesbians tend to be of jewish or carribbean extraction. One for the social anthropologists I think!

well iam not knowledgeable on the origins of homsexuality with respect to ppl of certain religous extraction being more likely to practice it . But Perhaps the prevalence of homosexualty amongst Christian and groupings is only indicative of how diluted and confused the understanding of message of the Prophets and Scriputure has become in the minds of common people.

Islam is uncompromizing with respect to cetain practices. And this is the way it should be to help stamp out and guide the people away from evil practices as understood by religion and as seen by science and medicine to be harmful. The uncompromizng stance arises from the fact that At the same time Islam tells you how you can avoid the acquisition development of certain evil and reprehensible traits within your character and spirituality, and so avoid the malaize of certain problems in society like homosexuality. But if you dont, then there is a penality for it in this life and the next, for you were warned through the Holy Book, and the SUnnah , as well as the guidence of the wise amgonst us.

newsflash.....the same way that gay people rationalize away straightforward Scripture which condemns homosexuality, is the same way gays will rationalize away the Quranic teaching.
