The Heart, such a delicate organ !

The beating heart, so strong and brave
pulses our lifeblood whoosh's and waves
Such a fragile organ of flesh
can bring a persons dreams to an end
In one quick heartbeat all could be lost
Standing before God, will you have the chance to count up the cost
of the deeds you've done throughout your life
Did you provide for your children and love your wife
The ravages of time can quicken the pace
of our journey through this rat race
but the worst of all ailments is the broken heart
when emotions drain the blood from one's heart
and the will to live fades even faster
the most cruel thing to have is a healthy physical heart
which has been broken by the tearing of an emotional bond
In these times, a friend is the best medicine !

The doctor pokes and probes around
And he listens for the sound
Of your heartbeat dim or loud
As the light goes 'hind a cloud.

You wonder what he will say now
Is there damage, where and how?
What is next you will dismay
As you worry and you pray.

What to tell your friends and kin
How will they act? Where to begin?
Can they help you? Will they cry?
Or just dismiss your pain, a sigh...

You want to share the good and bad
But what to do? They may be sad
As you yourself has to admit
That worry does not help one bit.

We wish we could steer back in time
Erase the past, make all things fine
But then we'd not be who we are
The past creates as well as mars.

Instead we must face all, no fear
And gather friends to help us steer
Our path to Allah (swt), our final one
Making sure we touch the Sun.

Our friends are there at arm's reach
They're there to talk, not to preach
Just ask for help from those who know
Accept the good, to fight the foe.

My own advice is short and sweet
It's simply do not miss a beat
Look for friends who never part
From finding you inside their hearts.
