You cant log in ummah chat room cause of the errors of Java. You should remove it from your computer. After that you can setup it. InshaAllah your problem will be solved out.

Once you click on 3rd option you got to wait until the pages fully downloads,
then you'll see the ( connect ) thing appear where the little chat screen was where it said (extra log in,)
click on (connect) and you'll get the chat room screen ( if there's space for you, it was full all day yesterday ! )

I appreciate that I've been banned from the chatroom, is this permanent because I certainly wasn't being offensive - having firm debate is quite distinct.

However you've obviously banned evryone from this server as my flatmate and other s in the building have found themselves banned to!!

I'm getting a "Applet DigiChat notinited" in the browser status bar along with a red cross at the top left of the applet, and then when i hover the mouse over the failed applet the browser status bar then reads "loading java applet failed..."

This happens in all three options for chat...

I've found a solution to the following error: "java.lang.ClassFormatError: Incompatible magic value ... in class ...".

This problem (at least in my case) appears when the applet tries to get an inexistent remote resource and the server reply with a custom 404 HTML page instead of "HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found" error header. In this case the applet do not recognize the alternative 404 page as valid class and generates the error.

I suggest two alternatives to solve this problem:

1) remove the 404 redirection from server (drastic solution);

2) generate the 404 redirection using a server-side script (JSP, PHP, ASP,...) that analize the HTTP_USER_AGENT environment variable and returns an "HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found" header if contains the "Java" word.
In PHP this script looks like the following:
