Gordon Brown Shakes Hands with a Racist and Sectarian Bigot!

Sunday, 06 February 2005
Muslims are disillusioned with the Labour party. Now couple this with the image of Gordon Brown (probably the second most powerful person in Britain) sharing a platform with Benjamin Netanyahu (equivalent of Nick Griffin).

Please view the following link;

The Minister of Finance, Benjamin Netanyahu, met this morning (27/01/05) in London with his British counterpart, Gordon Brown. During the meeting, Mr. Netanyahu invited Mr. Brown to visit Israel during the year. Mr. Brown stated in response that he would be delighted to visit at the head of a British business delegation.

Let us put aside the Israeli - Palestinian conflict for one second. Benjamin Netanyahoo has a problem with the very existence of Israeli Arabs;

http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2003/27929.htm (http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2003/27929.htm)

'Minister of Finance Benjamin Netanyahu's statement in December at a major public policy conference that Israeli Arabs presented a "demographic problem" in the country elicited strong criticism, especially from civil rights groups and Israeli-Arab leaders. '

Imagine if Gordon Brown was to say that the growing Asian or non white population is a problem in Britain?

Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, U.S. Department of State, 2002, Country Reports on Human Rights Practices, http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2001/nea/8262.htm (http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2001/nea/8262.htm))

'The Government has not allocated sufficient resources or taken adequate measures to provide Israeli Arabs, who constitute approximately 20 percent of the population, with the same quality of education, housing, and social services, as well as the same opportunities for government employment, as Jews. In addition government spending is proportionally far lower in predominantly Arab areas than in Jewish areas; on a per capita basis, the Government spends two-thirds as much for Arabs as for Jews... '

'The Government made little headway in reducing institutional, legal, and societal discrimination against Israel's Arab citizens, who constitute approximately 20 percent of the population but do not share fully the rights provided to, and obligations imposed on, the country's Jewish citizens... Under the Law of Return, the Government grants automatic citizenship and residence rights to Jewish immigrants and their families; the Law of Return does not apply to non-Jews or to persons of Jewish descent who have converted to another faith.'

If Gordon Brown was to visit Israel as the head of the British Business delegation, he is potentially encouraging the investment in Business stolen from the Palestinians, or businesses operating a racist, sectarian policy.

Would Gordon Brown encourage the existence and growth of sectarian racist businesses in the United Kingdom or partnership of such businesses abroad?

In light of this how should Muslims vote in the next election?

It's a finance minster to finance minister thing, nothing more.

Although this does raise the question of why, when Sharon has risked political suicide time and time again to puh for a genuine peace do you guys give him no support. If he loses in his attempt to push through peace and Bibi gets the job....back to square one, and for Muslim in Israel possibly square minus-several.

exactly a punch in the face is why the situation is like it is...diplomacy is much more civilized, and causes less blood to flow.
