View Full Version : Campaign for an General Elections Forum
asalamu alaikum,
I know some Muslims on this board won't agree with this one, but to be frank with you, Muslims are voting and they are voting stupid. Take for example the BNP, guess who were voting for these lunatics? Muslims from the Benladeshi community who thought they were voting for the Bengali National Party!!
We have Muslims who will ve voting for Jack Straw, in the coming General Elections
We have Muslims who will ve voting for Mike Gapes, in the coming General Elections
and there are so much more. Please don't use this forum to start your discussions about voting is haraam or not, all I want here is to teach our Muslims AND Non Muslim visitors not to vote for MP's who will be standing in the coming General Elections like Mike Gapes and Jack Straw.
For further information about these two please visit: http://www.mpacuk.org/content/view/206/77/
So should we have the forum in here?

inshallah in another polls...i'm leaving this one for our brothers and sisters who live in the UK :)
oh come on akhi, just because your living in a totally differant world to ours doesn't mean you can't vote for this lol you can work with us from your pc in the world wher eyou live in to help us Muslims here, think of it as Jihad E Computer :p
If u win then i concede to u! :p
lol, this one is a tricky one, but alhamdulillah it will indeed benefit the UK Muslims into thinking and getting them active in other ways aswell.
But if I win sajid, your going to buy me a samosa, you still owe me one for the Action Alerts one lol
any more votes for this please, other members from differant counteries can vote but only a yes for you guys :p lol

No to this.
We don't need a whole forum to it. This stuff gets covered in CE and is brought into General anyway.
As far as I'm aware, ummah.com doesn't have a policy on voting, giving it a whole forum would pretty much be giving it the OK.. so thats for Saj and whoever to decide..
In any case, I think a forum for it is OTT.
Sayf are you just on a mission to create as many new forums as possible after Saj consolidated them only last week :eek2:

asalamu alaikum,
Jazakillah khair for your no vote, but to be honest this forum will be only for a couple of Months just for Muslims to come and see that who they are going to vote for if they are. Simple.
Now you posted this:
You know what.. all I'm hearing is "voting voting voting"
blah blah blah
like the whole world depends on it..
it has LITTLE effect in reality.. because you have LITTLE choice in reality and even smaller say in anything.. democracy is a farce, it is not we the people choose, it is we the people put a cross on a paper to say which of the losers were would prefer from all of the losers we can possibly have..
I have voted, not in the general elections, but in local ones.. and it involves what, putting a cross on a paper and going back home..
there are people who act like it is the end of the world.. and people who act like it is THE most pivotal thing ever and the most important thing in thier lives, like they are waging some huge jihad by putting a cross on a paper.
get over it everyone!
ROFL, This is the problem Sister, You just tick and you think oh thats it its done and dusted, Well my Sister this is not how it works. This is not how the Zionist do it and this is not how it should be done.
Muslims have this misconception that when they vote thats it, but there is far more to it, if we vote for a MP who says he can represent the Muslim community we HAVE to keep in contact with him, call him over to teh masjid let him see our day to day live style, what it involves.
Here is a good guide as to how to lobby your MP,
How to lobby political representatives

Also here is another one:
Understanding what MPs do and how they can help you
http://soa.islam4you.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29&Itemid=45
there are people who act like it is the end of the world..
It diffinatly will be an end of the world for some Muslims in Iraq, Chechneya, Palestine, Kashmir, Afghanistan and oh yeah Iran and Syria on the next hit list. Will it be an end to the world of Muslims in those counteries by death and destruction, I say YES indeed it will when Muslim vote stupid for the likes of Mike Gapes, Jack Straw, Oona King, and above all BNP this racist party which is filled with hatred.
By having a forum specially for this Muslims can come and learn who to vote for and what campapigns are going on in that area, like in Ilford MPACUK are doing a BIG campaign to get rid of him.
Sorry for this long essay but it has to be said my dear Sister :), so please vote wisely on this one.

Asalamu Alaykum
Like brother Al Nasser said 'Big up to your spirit' (o.k it wasn't along those lines anyways!)
lol JazakAllah Khair, well this is what I want Muslims and Non muslims to be aware of http://www.mpacuk.org/content/view/206/77/
http://soa.islam4you.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=44
Gapes Movie is abit dodgy inshAllah when Im free il sort that out, but everyone come on would you like the BNP to rise up in Muslim Communities and close the Masjids down?
this way people who aren't really interested...(i.e. 'idiotic' muslims as you so kindly put it sayf <or sumat along those lines>...or people out of the UK) don't have to see it shoved down their throats
come again got lost from your words :s
this way people who aren't really interested...(i.e. 'idiotic' muslims as you so kindly put it sayf <OR lines those along sumat>...or people out of the UK) don't have to see it shoved down their throats
Well Said
First, I would like to add that apart from your harsh comment sayf, why you chose bangladeshis ! To be honest, I don't know of a SINGLE bangladeshi who supports BNP. So, why you just decided to pick on them ? Is it because you pakistanies were defeated by them in their liberation war ? I am saying this because many of my bangladeshi friends told me that there are many pakistanies who can never get of this fact
And second, do you really think that BNP is a threat in this election ??? lol....get real bro !!! Enough dreaming...lol
*rofl bangs his head and cracks up laffing*
LOOOOOOOOL, I never said Muslim's are idiots, if you read carefully I am merely asking a Question, which was "Would you call a Muslim an idiot for not voting" (something along those lines) lol
Parvez, the reason why I gave that example was because its a fact, people did vote for the BNP from the Bengaldishi community.
Yes I am A Pakistani but above all that I AM a MUSLIM, A Muslim YESSS a Muslim. I don't see any rift between me and my bengladish friends, mind you I have grown up with them and never have we had a discussion about Pakistan or Bangladesh.
And second, do you really think that BNP is a threat in this election ??? lol....get real bro !!! Enough dreaming...lol
Well you have woken me up from a dream that I would NEVER hear a Muslim saying this, well here comes my Political Jihad. Let My Political Jihad begin, even if this campaign isn't successful I will use the General Forum for my Political Jihad, so I start in the Name of Allah (SWT) the most beneficial the most merciful.
Bear with me while I create a new thread .....
oh yeah just to add, if I don't get the forum, inshAllah what I'l do is il use the general forum, il be bringing my political jihad to your doors when Anti-Islamic MP's are standing in your area, I'l be bringing My Political Jihad to your PC's (Well im doing that now :p) and il be bringing my Political Jihad to your phones.
Its already happening in Ilford my dear Brothers and Sisters, MPACUK will be waking you up into this Political Jihad.

I'm a kaffir not a brother, but I admire your spirit. Nice to see someone actually doing something about something real that Muslims in the UK can actually do instead of posting reams of prose about slaughtering the crusaders before going back to watching Eastenders.
oh thank you for bringing that to my intention (well i ain't gna treat you differantly if ur finking like that :p), but hey thanks, i really appriciate ur comments, its time to act and get rid of those mp's who mislead us and do us no good.

If the forum becomes a reality, I found this advice to voters on CAIR's website. It could easily be adapted for the UK General Elections:
WHAT TO DO ON ELECTION DAY:
1. KNOW WHERE TO GO. In many states, you will NOT be allowed to vote if you
show up at the wrong polling place. Your board of elections can tell you
where to vote. Call today to locate your polling place. If you can't reach
your board, call 1-866-OURVOTE.
2. BRING PROPER IDENTIFICATION. Proper forms of ID can include a driver's
license, a utility bill or another document that includes your name and
address. Make sure the ID matches your address.
3. READ SIGNS AT POLLING PLACES for instructions on how to vote and how to
file a complaint if you believe your rights have been violated.
4. REVIEW THE SAMPLE BALLOT BEFORE VOTING. Ballots are often confusing, and
their designs can change considerably from election to election. If you
have questions about how to vote on your ballot, ask a poll worker or poll
monitor for help.
5. CHECK YOUR BALLOT BEFORE CASTING YOUR VOTE. If you are having a problem
understanding instructions, or if you just want to make sure you are voting
in the correct manner, ask to speak to a poll worker
6. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS CONCERNING "PROVISIONAL BALLOTS." No voter can be
turned away in any state this year without being allowed to vote. If there
is a question about your eligibility, you must be allowed to vote on a
provisional ballot, the validity of which will be determined later. But if
you are entitled to vote on a regular ballot, you should insist on doing
so, since a provisional ballot may be disqualified later on a technicality.
7. KNOW WHERE TO TURN FOR HELP. It is a good idea to bring a cell phone and
phone numbers of nonpartisan hotlines such as 1-866-OURVOTE and 1-866-MYVOTE1.
8. BE PREPARED FOR LONG LINES. Try to get to your polling place very early
in the morning, or between the before-work and after-work rushes. As long
as you are in line before the polls close, you are legally entitled to
vote. Do not let poll workers close the polls until you have voted.
Jazakillah khair Sister, any more Yes Votes, come on we can make this a focal point to launch our campaigns againts the BNP and ANti Muslim MPs
I will keep bugging until I get my result, I ain't givng up yet my dear Brothers & Sisters, My jihad has just begun, has yours?
JazakAllah Khair number 6, thank you very much :)
lol am I bugging you? well vote then :p lol come on they are already planning a war againt Iran so lets use the forum to name and shame those who want to kill mor eMuslims, Come ON, Do you atleast care
lol am I bugging you? well vote then Ok. A "NO" vote from me.
Basically, I understand and support the concept (not having a separate forum but getting together on an issue like this).
However, I voted no for the following reasons
Reason 1 : For bumping this thread again and again which I found quite annoying.
Reason 2 : Because of your misrepresentation and phony accusations to bring up your case. I have to agree with parvez on this one. I am a bangladeshi living in Birmingham and I don't know of a single bangladeshi who supports BNP.
The most annoying thing was to say that bangladeshis (if any at all!) voted BNP becaused they confused BNP with Bangladesh National Party in Bangladesh !!! Honestly, is it even believable ??? As any sensible person will clearly understand that there's no way to confuse an election in this country with an election in Bangladesh !!! How absurd comment can someone make to bring up his own agenda !!! That was a truely disgusting act with utter foolishness !!!
I'm sorry bro Sayf but if you're trying to achieve something good, then first "BE HONEST YOURSELF".
Don't let down a good cause by bringing unnecessary fictitious stories.

hey bro,
i don't think brother sayf meant to be dishonest, its a newspaper story and no one really looks into these things. You may say "well how dare anyone thinkn the bangladeshis are so stupid" but its not that at all. it's more the fact that for example: as botehr sayf has stated gefore, in Ilford there is a Labour MP who is anti muslim. Now i know hoardes of muslims who vote labour, and i expect there will be many of themin Ilford who vote for the labour candidate there. however that is because they are not aware that he is anti muslim.
also, ik now of an indian guy who actually spoke to a BNP guya nd thought he saw soem of his policies made sense. (he also said that apparently the BNP are promising nonwhites £100,000 to go back to their "own countries" and he actually belived this was a good deal  )
anyway, i juist think you've assumed too much... and i am sorry that i did not knwo teh full deatils of that stupid story.
although i think we have an action forum now or something... maybe you could request a sticky or something bro sayf... that way you can add info to it. besides the general forum will always be far busier than any other forum.
Hmm...I guess you didn't get my point ponderingstar. If you notice I started my post with
Basically, I understand and support the concept (not having a separate forum but getting together on an issue like this).
However, I voted no for the following reasons
Reason 1 : For bumping this thread again and again which I found quite annoying.........I was talking about the way bro Sayf brought up this issue. The actual point here is some muslims (whatever their nationality is) are voting (probably without understanding properly) their leaders who are against islam. Therefore, as muslims we should do something to bring awareness about it. And as I said before I agree with that on principle. But I don't really see any connections with this and that isolated story (even if its true!).
I hope it gets clear to everyone now. :)
P.S. And ofcourse I expressed my feelings about the repeated thread bumps.
ok I would agree on point 2 (but that was never my intention) now point 1 flipping hecks you got annoyed because im popping this thread up.
NOW WHAT THE HECK IS THIS???
There are no words to describe how im feeling now, I guess you don't know why im doing this, well let me spell it out to you,
I want the General Elections forum so that Muslims who vote can vote tactfully, not vote for someone who says
“What was done by our Government in support of the liberation of the people of Iraq is something of which I am p r o u d . We s h o u l d n o t apologise.”
Mike Gapes
not for someone who says:
"I am pro-Israel. I believe in Israel's right to exist. I plead guilty,"
Jack Straw
Your NO vote has and will make a Muslim vote for someone who will sign the deal to kill more Muslims, oh well im doing my bit with the intent to save Muslims.
But fare enough whoever is getting annoyed by my actions, so be it, I ain't doing this to please anyone but Allah (SWT), my intentions are to save Muslims, to make Muslims and Non Muslims aware of these MP's who kill innocent Muslims.
Well Thank you for those who have voted for it, I will keep you and your family in my dua's as for those who voted a NO, I will do the same.
Honestly, is it even believable ??? asalamu alaikum akhi,
well your living in Birmigham, i heard about this which happen in London area, so please think about it, can someone from the Bengaladeshi community vote for someone like the BNP, by no means I am implying the our fellow Muslim Brothers from the Bengladeshi community are stupid, there are countless examples I can give from the Pakistani Community, look at blackburn where JAck straw came from, who was he voted by? Guess? The Pakistani community because they have no idea what hes on about.
If you thought im just giving the Bengladeshi community as a whole a bad name, well don't even think like that.
You cannot say for 100% that no Muslim from the bengladishi or any other community vote for the BNP, then you would be lieing.
I apologise if I have offended anyone, but like I stated at the beginning of this thread, even if I don't get this forum, I will continue with my political jihad in the General Forum, I have already achieved one of my goals and that was to set up an Action Alert forum, which is mashAllah usfull for all Muslims.
Thanks again for those who voted for this and that :) May Allah (SWT) bless you and your family.
lol...first cool down bro Sayf...:)
I made it very clear why I voted no in this specific pole. Let me make something else clear. I truly don't think that not supporting a "separate forum on ummah.com" in anyway means support for anti-islamists !!!
As I said brother, calm down and don't get overexcited ;)
lol im calm now, wooo saaaaa :p lol, na Bro listen don't you think it would be better in a separate forum then do have it in a General forum where people are talking on and on and on. Where do you think a thread about Jack Straw will be at the end of two days?
probably 4 pages down the forum don't you agree?
Ok...happy to see everything back to normal :)
Where do you think a thread about Jack Straw will be at the end of two days? probably 4 pages down the forum don't you agree?
I am not trying to make counter arguments. But won't that be an indication that members here are not too interested on this ? Otherwise why would it go 4 pages down ? So, having a complete separate board/forum for what members are appearantly uninterested on...erm...I'm not sure
What is the purpose of the General Forum?
What is the purpose of the General Forum?
Umm...What is the purpose of the Action Alert forum ?

no i agree on a sepretae forum which should be labelled something along the lines of "politics and media" which shuld include ALL types of pro active things we can do as muslims. That includes chariities, boycotts, political info and media stuffs.
that way when i come on here looking for stuff and i've been away all weekend i wont have to look through all the general posts to find out bits and pieces. The thing is that some info wont need replies, it'll just be info... so there will be no need to bump it up... and will travel down the pages....
i have changed my mind (yet again!!!) and decided we need a forum called "action" or something similar afterall
lol, it was a simple question akhi, now il answer your question, but remember this, If someone asks you a question first answer them first, Islam doesn't teach that when you are asked a question you don't answer but ask another question.
Anyway,
Action: Organized activity to accomplish an objective: a problem requiring drastic action.
Alert: A signal that warns of attack or danger: Sirens sounded the alert for an air raid.
Tellings Muslims to act upon things which attack Islam & Muslims.
The idea ofAction Alert Forum came from, the ayah which states "enjoin with good and forbid evil"
Does that answer your question? Also go have a ook in the Action Alert forum, tell me if you don't agree with it akhi, Jihad E Qalm I call it, Jihad E Qalm.
Please remember this for future referance.

So did you vite for a NO? If yes that would make it 8 - 6

asalamu alaikum,
that forum is just for action alerts, but I would like to have a section just for the general elections, this comes only once in every 4 years, so i think we should have it for a couple of months leading upto the elections.
We have 50000+ members here, and lets make it the most active one on the net.
asalamu alaikum,
I was thinking before I went to bed last night about Brotehr Khalid20 comments,
Is he worried more about his nationality than Islam and does he get annoyed when he see's pictures of our fellow Muslim Brothers and Sisters getting killed and tortoured annoying aswell bumping up over and over and over again?
Just some thoughts...
so long as i get more info on who is an anti muslim candidate i'm happy.

come on![/QUOTE]
Let this site thread become a furum to name and shame ANY anti Muslim candidate at local or general elections. Politics is a dirty game let us all bercome more informed. Well that might mean that there will be some constituencies that CANNOT offer any suitable candidate. The solution then would be for people who are not anti-Muslim to stand forward.
