Assalaamu alaikum
I think this nasheed many can relate to and written it when I saw a bro and also some sisters really down because of how they were treated. Alhamdillah, years later they grew strong in Imaan and never did what many in past did to them:
What I Need
I’ve been on the road for so long
I’m been trying to find a way out
I feel so old but I’m just sixteen
Listen to me for crying out loud
For a moment, stop talking down to me
Brothers help me out of this mess
Show me the road to Allah the All Mighty
Maybe this is my last chance
Help to find a way out is what I need
Take the pain away so I can sleep
They say the words of Allah taste so sweet
Help me back on my feet
I need the right food to eat
Stories of Muhammad (SAW)
Will sweep me back onto my feet
I’ve been on the road for so long
Nothing clouds my mind but doubt
Show me kindness sister
But all you do is point and shout
Sister, I’ve been trying to find a smile to hold onto
I thought I’d see it from righteous people like you
But you either stare past me as you usually do
A salaam would do wonders but judging me is all you do
Help to find a way out is what I need
Take the pain away so I can sleep
They say the words of Allah taste so sweet
Help me back on my feet
I need the right food to eat
Stories of Muhammad (SAW)
Will sweep me back onto my feet
Father, blaming the sins of the world on me…I don’t need
Just some hope to plant the seeds
Tell me how I can do good and defeat
The darkness that reside in me
Mother, instead of showing all my bad
And shouting so, so is better than me
Show me kindness
Stories of Muslim heroes to set my heart free
Help to find a way out is what I need
Take the pain away so I can sleep
They say the words of Allah taste so sweet
Help me back on my feet
I need the right food to eat
Stories of Muhammad (SAW)
Will sweep me back onto my feet
