Like a flash from the heavens, I was suddenly struck
Good fortune had run out, time for bad luck
A warm summers day, bright and sunny
When out of the blue, I began to feel funny
My eyes went dark and my balance was lost
I grabbed for the wall but, it twisted and bent then got tossed
I awoke in the hospital, cool and clammy
Looking around I saw my wife and my Mammy
From that day forth, with each passing day
The colors have all run together, pastel colors, cracked and dry
crumbling with each beat of my wings
Eight long years of not being able to fly
My soul aches so much and my heart let's out a cry
I once dreamed of so many adventures and visiting new lands
I'm left with no home, a walking stick and an old dog, who lends me a hand
A gray shadow of a man, the kind nobody pays any mind to as they pass by
