why do you think it would do that? Does any other disease invalidate wudu? I have read hadith that say that ill people should pray if they can, pray sitting down in they can't stand, or pray lying down if they can't sit. If illness invalidates wudu, how would this be possible?

The question in its entirety is too ambiguous. But, if mental illness causing delusions or loss of moral judgement is the case, one does not pray at all. The popular Hanafi position is that after one recovers from the ordeal, he or she must perform their Wudhu since there is no telling the circumstances that have occured during that lapse of time.

Overall, Wudhu isn't void unless the mental illness triggers something that is already known to be a precursor of invalidating Wudhu or that you have a lapse of memory during an interval of time.
