Coventry City Circle Presents:

PREPARATION FOR RAMADAN - One day intensive 'All you need to know about Ramadan' course

Delivered by Mawlana Hafiz Hasan Ali [Dar-Uloom, Dewsbury]*

Date: Saturday 9th October 2004
Times: 10am - 6pm
Venue: The Library Lecture Room, Central Campus, University of Warwick, Gibbet Hill Road, Coventry, West Midlands CV4 7AL

Alhamdulillah the month of Ramadan is approaching and if Allah (swt) gives us the ability we will fast.
Unfortunately for many it has become the 'month of sleeping' and instead of reforming oneself it has turned
into a cultural practice or 'a thing we must do', hence devoid of all the benefits a person could gain.
The root cause of this is ignorance. Year after year the same questions pop up. How can we 'really'
make use of Ramadan in a practical way. The answer lies in preparing for it! This specially designed
course will help you explain the following:

* Fasting - proofs, obligations, breaking fast * Permissible and non-permissible actions
* Taraaweeh * Issues surrounding Moon Sighting
* Eid ul-Fitr and Zakat ul-Fitr * Differences in opinion
* Other types of fasting * Women and fasting
* Making up fasts ... and many other issues that are closely related to Ramadan.

*ALL WELCOME including sisters
*By BOOKINGS only.
*Cost: Ł10 per person [no lunch included]*
*Notes will be provided and course will conducted in ENGLISH with Q & A

* Mawlana Hafiz Hasan Ali who was taught in the traditional way is a young,
up-and-coming scholar brought up in the UK. Since graduating from
Dar-ul-Uloom in Dewsbury, he has served the Muslim community as
Imam of the Islamic Cultural Society in North London and the Islamic
Studies teacher at Yusuf Islam's Brondesbury College for Boys in
London. Besides being someone who has memorised the Qur'an, he has
completed an MA in Islamic Studies. He is a director for both Ebrahim
Community College in East London and the Ni'mah Center in Leicester.
This unique upbringing in the UK, combined with traditional Islamic
knowledge and day-to-day interaction with Muslims in various fields
makes him a unique lecturer. He focuses on real issues concerning
the Ummah and is known for being out spoken where needed.
