Coventry City Circle Presents:
HUMAN RIGHTS IN ISLAM
By Brother Abu Muntasir ibn Mohar Ali of JIMAS (Jam'iat Ihyaa Minhaaj Al-Sunnah)*
Date: Sunday 26th September 2004
Time: 3.30pm - 5.30pm [Apologies for change of time]
Venue: St Pauls Church Hall, 346 Foleshill Road, Foleshill , Coventry, West Midlands CV6 5AJ
*FREE EVENT
*ALL WELCOME including Sisters and children
*In ENGLISH with Q & A session
*Book Stall available
The talk will explore how Islam views people's human rights and how
the Qur'an enshrines and guarantees them. Human rights in Islam are
neither a mere philosophical construct nor for exhibition. They should
mould our understanding of how to treat others we may disagree with.
How a society with varying and differing opinions should function.
An understanding is also required to explain why violations of human
rights exist across the Muslim world and in Muslim societies, often
in the name of Islam.
*Few people can strike the balance between da'wah, work and family
as effectively as Br Abu Muntasir. Perhaps one of the most competent
all round speakers in the UK, he is constantly in demand from people
seeking a balanced understanding of the deen, which is Islam. He is
currently amir of Jam'iat Ihyaa Minhaaj As-Sunnah, a charity based
in Ipswich, and works full-time as a Software Engineer. He has been
active in the propagation of Islam for the last 20 years. Br Abu Muntasir,
is a dedicated father of several children, still makes time to organise
the annual JIMAS conference in Leicester (one of the largest and most
professionally organised Islamic conferences in the UK), deliver lectures
on a variety of relevant topics around the country, and offer sensible,
practical advice to those who seek it.
We look forward to seeing you there, and your participation in what should
be a very informative and enlightening Q&A session after the lecture.
