astghafurllah but unlike the 487832 scholars who keep me attached to my chair when they appear on TV..al Habib Ali is the person who make me change the channel just once i see him.....i really didn't know why i dislike him but later (and subhan Allah) i found out that he is widely disliked too by many Sunni Arab Muslims

Agree. Same feeling. No obvious reason. I just can't digest him. :rolleyes:

Asalamu alaykum,

That may be your personal choice of preference. Personally, I have heard only praise of the Shaykh from the Sunni Ulema and the Sunni Muslims who have met him. Only the Salafiyya / Wahabiyya sect attack him and their opinion as far as I am concerned is worthless.

Ask the brothers on www.sunniforum.com what their opinion is of the noble shaykh if you so wish to gage the opinion of the sunnis on Habib Ali (may Allah swt preserve him)
