Nature Of Satan & His Method Of Seduction

The Story Of The Visit Of The Devil

Surely, Satan is an enemy to you, so treat him as an enemy. He only invites his "hizb" (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the Blazing Fire.
Qur'an 35:6

The following is a Hadith from Ibn Abbas (RA), as related by Mu'dh Ibn Jabal and contained in Muhyiddin 'Arabi's book, 'Shajarat al-Kawn', (The Tree of Being). This is by information from another Hadith by Anas Ibn Malik (RA). Insh'Allah, this humble retelling will help us to do what Allah says ‘do’, and stop where Allah says ‘stop’.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

One day, a congregation was gathered at the home of one of the Ansar around the Prophet (SAW). (According to Anas, it was Abu Ayyub). In the middle of a wonderful discourse, an ugly voice from the outside was heard saying, "O Messenger of Allah would you permit me to enter? I have business with you!"

All looked at the Prophet (SAW), who said to the ones present, "Do you recognize the owner of this voice?" The companions answered, "Allah and His Messenger know best" The Prophet (SAW) said, "It is Shaytan, the Accursed."

On hearing that, Umar (RAW), who was present, pulling his sword, asked, "O Messenger of Allah, permit me to go and cut off his head. Let me smash his skull and free the people from his trouble"

The Prophet (SAW) replied, "No, Umar, don't you know that you cannot kill him? He has permission to exist until Doomsday."

Then he added, "Open the door and admit him, as he did not come on his own, but on Allah's orders". Otherwise, he would not come here. Listen to what he says, and try to understand."

The Rawi (RA), one of the companions, relates the tale. "They opened the door and he appeared in front of us as an old man cross-eyed (or blind in one eye) and scant of beard, with only six or seven long hairs from his chin. He had a very big head, his crossed eyes close to the top of his head, high on his forehead, with big thick hanging lips, like those of a water buffalo. He saluted the Prophet and the Companions, to which the Prophet (SAW) responded, 'O Accursed, the salaam and salutations belong to Allah Most High. 'Then he said, 'I heard you are here on business. What is it?

"Shaytan said, 'I did not wish to come here, I was forced to. An angel came to me from your Lord, who honors whom He wishes, and said, "Allah Most High orders you to Muhammad, but you will go to him in humility and abasement, and be submissive and tractable. You will tell him how you seduce and mislead humankind. You are going to answer all his questions truthfully, without a single lie." And Allah said that if I lied to you, He would turn me into ashes and blow me away in the wind, and my enemies would laugh at me. I come with such orders, O Muhammad.'

"Then the Prophet (SAW) asked the Devil, 'Tell me, who in the creation do you hate most?'

The Devil answered, 'You O Muhammad! ("And all the prophets.") There is no one in the whole creation that I hate more than your or another like you.'

"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) confirmed that the Devil was his (and all the prophets') greatest foe. He asked, Whom else do you detest, besides me?"

"Shaytan said, 'The young ones who have given up their pleasures and themselves for Allah's sake; the men of knowledge who act upon their knowledge and who decline all that is doubtful; the ones who are clean, so clean that they wash thrice that which they wish to cleanse. the patient poor, who neither ask from others the things they need, not complaining.the thankful rich, who give alms lawfully. the knowledgeable who act on what they know; the readers of the Qur'an who pattern themselves on it; those who call to prayer on time; advisors and reformers; abstainers from unlawful food and sex and those who place their trust in Allah; benefactors of the poor; the devout busy in Allah's service.

"Then, the Prophet (SAW) asked, 'What happens to you, O Accursed One, when my people do their prayers?'
"I shake and tremble as if stricken with malaria, because I see your people raised in blessing and power each time they prostrate."

Q: "'What happens to you, O Accursed, when my people fast?"
A: 'I have my hands and feet tied until they break their fast..'

Q: 'What happens to you when they all meet on the Pilgrimage at the house of their Lord?'
A: 'I lose my wits, I go mad."

Q: 'What happens to you when they recite the Holy Qur'an?'
A: 'I melt, like lead turning to hot liquid in the fire.'

Q: 'And when they pay alms?'
A: I am torn to pieces, as if the generous donors took a saw and sawed me into four pieces, because there are four beatitudes which the donor receives: the blessing of abundance, love and respect from Allah's creatures, a shield from Hell fires, and relief from distress and troubles.'

Q: "Then the Messenger of Allah (SAW) asked the Devil what he thought of his beloved Companions.
A: About Abu Bakr (RA) he said, 'I hate him. Even before Islam, he refused to obey, nay! even to hear me. How can he now listen to me?' About Umar Ibn Khattab he said, 'I run away whenever I see him. And about Ali Ibn Abu Talib he said, 'Oh, if I could just be safe from him, if he would just let me be, I would let him be. But he will not leave me alone!'

"Having heard the answers of the accursed Shaytan, the Prophet (SAW) thanked Allah said, 'Praised be to Allah, who has blessed my people with such felicity and cursed you with such negativity until that appointed time.

"When the Devil heard that, he said, 'Alas for you, what felicity for your people? How can you feel there is safety for them as long as I exist? I enter their very veins, their very flesh, and they cannot even suspect, let along see or feel me. I swear by Allah Who has given me time until Doomsday, that I will seduce them all, the intelligent and the simpleminded, the learned as well as the ignorant, the devout as well as the sinner. None will be safe from me, except the true servants of Allah.'

Q: 'Who are the true servants of Allah, according to you?'
A: 'You know well, O Muhammad, that whoever loves his money and his property, Allah does not count among His servants. Whenever I see someone who does not say "mine" and me, who does not love either money or flattery, I know he is truly a servant of Allah and I run away from him. As long as one loves money, property, flattery, he obeys me, he is my servant. I need many servants and I have servants. I am not alone. I have 70,000 children, each of them with his assigned duties. Each of my 70,000 children has 70,000 shaytans serving under him, all assigned to different posts. Many are with the young, and the older women, and with the theologians and preachers and shaykhs. There are almost no difference of opinion between your young children. And some of the devout and some of the pious get along very well with my people! My devils lead the imagination of the sincerity of their devotions. Soon, they fight with each other and they don't even know what is happening to them. Then, I whisper to them, "Disbelieve", but when they disbelieve, I say,

"I am free of you. Surely I fear Allah, the Lord of the Worlds." (Sûrah al-Hashir, Ayat 16.)

"Then, the accursed Devil told how he profited from habits of man, which he liked. About lying, he said, 'Do you know, O Muhammad, that lying is from me and that I am the first liar: Whoever lies is my best friend; whoever swears to the truth of Allah and lied to Adam and Eve.

I swore to them both, "Surely I am a sincere advisor to you." (Sûrah AL A`raf, 7:21).

I also detest loving families. If they think of rejecting each other once, the marriage bond in Allah's view is dissolved. The wife will be unlawful to the husband. When they sleep together, they will be adulterers. If they have a child, he will be a bastard. I love that.'

'O Muhammad, let me tell you about my friends who abandon prayers or delay them. When it is time for prayer, I make them imagine that there is still time, that they are busy. They should enjoy what they are doing, they can always pray later! I hope they will die before doing their next prayer. If I don't succeed again, I enter into their prayers. I tell them, "Look to the right, look to the left! Think of the past, plan your future!" And when they do, I caress their cheeks and kiss their foreheads and take the peace from their hearts. You know, O Muhammad, that the prayers of those whose attention is outside of them or who are imagiging things which do not belong in the presence of Allah are also rejected and thrown in their faces. And, if I am not successful in that, I order them to do their prayers fast, and they look like hens picking at grain. If I still don't succeed, I follow them to the congregational prayers and put bridles on their heads. I pull, and lift their heads from the prostration before the Imam, and I push their heads down before the Imam touches his head to the ground and I am overjoyed to remember that Allah will turn those unruly heads into donkeys heads on the Last Day of Judgment. If I am still not successful, I try at least to make them crack their fingers while they are making prayers. Then, they will be among those who make my tasbih, instead of Allah's ta'bih. Or at least I will blow into their noses and make them yawn and, if they open their mouths, a little devil will enter into them through their mouths and increase their love and ambition of this world. The one who loves and is ambitious for this world becomes my soldiers; he obeys me and does as he is ordered.

'O Muhammad, how can you hope and be serene about your people's salvation and felicity? I have a trap at every corner for them. I go to the poor and tell them, "What has Allah done for you? Why do you pray to Him? Prayer is for those to whom He has given in abundance." Then, I go the ones who are sick and tell them to stop praying, and remind them that even Allah said,

"There is no blame on the sick" (Surah Nur, 24:61)

I hope that they will die having abandoned their prayers, so that Allah will meet them with anger in the Hereafter.

'O Muhammad, if I have told a single lie, may scorpions bite me, and ask from Allah that He turn me into ashes. O Muhammad, do not be sure of your people. I have already converted a sixth of them, who have left their religion.'

Q: 'O Accursed One, with whom do you most like to spend your time?'
A: 'The usurer.

Q: 'And your best friend?'
A: 'The adulterer.'

Q: With whom do you share your bed?'
A: 'The drunkard.'

Q: 'Who are your guests?'
A: 'The thieves.'

Q: 'Who are your representatives?'
A: The magicians and soothsayers.'

Q: 'What pleases you most?'
A: 'Divorce.'

Q: 'Whom do you love most?'
A: 'Those who abandon their Friday prayers.'

The ten friends of Shaytan are, tyrants and oppressors; the arrogant; servile scholars who hide the truth for the benefit of tyrants; dishonest tradesmen; drinkers of alcohol; dealers in fraud; slanderers; those who stir up trouble among friends.

Q: "What breaks your heart, o Accursed One?
A: 'The determination and the firm footsteps of those who march against the enemies of Allah for Allah's sake.'

Q: 'What gives you pain?'
A: 'The repentance of the penitent.'

Q: 'What makes you grimace?'
A: 'The alms given in secret.'

Q: 'What makes your eyes blind?'
A: 'The tahajjud prayer in the middle of the night.'

Q: 'What makes you bow your head?'
A: 'Prayer done in congregation.'

'Q: 'O Shaytan, according to you, who are the happiest among people?'
A: 'The ones who purposefully abandon their prayers.'

Q: 'And the best among people?'
A: 'The miser.'

Q: 'What prevents you from doing your job?'
A: 'The gathering of men of knowledge and their discourses.'

Q: 'How do you eat your food?'
A: 'With my left hand and the tips of my fingers.'

Q: 'When the sun is hot, where do you seek shade?'
A: 'Under people's dirty fingernails.'

" 'I asked Allah to give me a house, and He gave me the public baths.
I asked Allah to give me a temple, and he gave me the marketplace as my temple.
I asked Allah to give me a book. He gave me the book of poetry as my book.
I asked for a call to prayer, and He gave me the dancing music.
I asked for someone to share my bed, and He gave me the drunkard.
I asked Allah for helpers. Allah gave me those who believe in free will.
I asked Allah to give me brothers and sisters, and Allah gave me the squanders who spend their money on evil things. Allah said,"surely the squanders are the Devil's brethren" (Surah Bani Isr'ail, Ayat 27).

Then I asked Allah to be able to see the children of Adam while they are unable to see me, and He accorded that to me. I wished that the very veins of the children of Adam be my routes, and it was given to me. So, I flow in their veins as I wish and enter their flesh. All these were given to me, and I am proud of what I have received. And, let me add, O Muhammad, that there are more with me than there are with you.'

" 'Then the Prophet (SAW) said, 'If you had not proven what you said with the verses of Allah's Book, it would have been hard for me to confirm what you say.'

" 'The Devil continued, 'Do you know, O Muhammad, that I have a son whose name is Atam? He urinates in the ear of the people who go to sleep without performing their night prayers. His urine puts them to sleep, otherwise, no one could have gone to bed without finishing their prayers.

Then, I have a son whose name is Mutaqadi. His duty is to publicize the prayers, the devotions, the good deeds done in secret a hundred fold. When deeds are publicized and receive credit and praise from the creatures of Allah, Allah takes away 99 of the promised one hundred rewards.

Then, I have a son whose name is Kuhayl. His duty is to put kohl on the eyes of those in the presence of wise men or preachers. The ones whose eyes he has touched start falling asleep. They are, thus, prevented from hearing the words of Allah or receiving any benefits from them.

" 'The Devil talked about women. He said, 'Whenever a woman leaves her seat, a Devil sits in her place. On the lap of every woman sits a shaytan who makes her desirable to whoever looks at her. Then, he orders the woman to open and show her arms, her legs, and her breast and with his claws, tears her veil of shame and decency.'

" 'Then the Devil started to complain. He said, 'O Muhammad, inspite of all this, I have no strength to take away the faith of the faithful. I only take away their faith when they throw it away. If I were able, there would be no one on the face of this world who could say: LA ILAHA ILLALLAH, MUHAMMAD RASULULLAH, " There is no Creator by Allah, Muhammad is His Messenger." I would not leave a single one to pray or fast. All I can do is to give the children of Adam imaginations, illusions and delusions, make the ugly appear beautiful, the wrong, right; and the bad, good. Neither do you have the power to give faith. You are only a proof of the Truth, because I know that, if you were given the power to give true faith, you would not leave a single non-believer on the face of this world. The fortunate one who is a believer is fortunate in his mother's womb, and the rebellious sinner is a rebel in his mother's womb. As you are the guide of
the fortunate, I am only the cause of sin of the ones who are destined to sin. Allah is He who renders one fortunate and another rebellious.' Then he recited from Surah Hud,

"And if thy Lord had pleased He would have made people a single nation, and they cease not to differ, except those upon whom thy Lord has mercy, and for this did He create them. And the word of them altogether" (Surah Hud, Ayat 118-119.)

He recited from Surah Ahzab, Ayat 38: ' "And the command of Allah is a decree that is made absolute.' "

Then, the Mercy upon the Universe told the Devil, 'O Father of All Bitterness, I wonder if it is at all possible for you to repent and return to your Lord. I promise I would intercede for you.'

"The Accursed One answered, 'O Messenger of Allah, it is Allah's justice. The ink on the pen which wrote the judgment is dry. What will happen until Doomsday. The One who made the master of all prophets, the speaker for the inhabitants of Paradise, the One who chose you to be the beloved amongst His creation, chose me to be the master of sinners and the speaker of the inhabitants of Hell. He is Allah. O Muhammad, this which I have told you is my last word to you, and I have told nothing but the truth.' "

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Allah says in Qur'an:

Surely Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe: Send ye blessing and salute him with all respect. 33:53

May Allah's blessing be upon Muhammad, the Beloved of Allah, and upon his household and Companions and upon those who love him. Amin.

Allah has sent down the Best Statement, a Book, its parts resembling each other (and) oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it. Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allah (39:23)

Abu Mubarak, have you ever encountered a Shaytaan that has manifested itself physically?

AbuMubarak
20-08-04, 09:00 PM
there are many types of manifestation of shaytan

some can be right within our midst

being distracted in salat, forgetting salat, missing salat, doing haram, or even thinking of doing haram are all manifestations of shaytan

walking down the street and having shaytan catch your gaze upon things you shouldnt see is another, friends encouraging you to haram, fighting with muslims, anger, are all types of manifestation of haram

impatience, greed, envy are also signs that shaytan is whispering to you

have a seen a guy with a pitchfork? nope

have i seen little gremlin creatures? again, no

True indeed, what you say Abu Mubarak.

As for the other manifestation of shaytaan you know the Qareen. I think I have encountered my Qareen during a few occasions.

Either that or it is me and my crazy imagination!

The Sickness of Imitating the Kuffar By Aboo 'Abdullaah Hasan as-Sumaalee

http://www.troid.org/audio/ibaadah/purificationofthesoul/tarheeb/imitating.htm (http://www.gawab.com/cgi-bin/gawabcli?redirect=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.troid.org%2Faud io%2Fibaadah%2Fpurificationofthesoul%2Ftarheeb%2Fi mitating.htm)

What is the Intention of this Lecture? ‘What do we intend by this. After understanding the impermissibility of imitating the Christians and the Jews? We intend by this to clarify the path (siraatul-mustaqeem) and those chapters of misguidance so that you may be aware of it and stay away from it. For that which is apparent, is that which is in the heart. Shaykhul-Islaam said that there is a clear connection between the heart and that which appears on the limbs.

So everyone we see wearing their baseball hats, we say ‘Subhan’Allaah’, do you love the kuffar to that extent? And we you see them praying, their backsides are hanging out, we say, ‘do you love the kuffar to that extent? ‘Those people who we see, slandering and backbiting, accusing the believers of disgusting things, like the tabloid papers, ‘do you love the kuffar to that extent?

This heart, you must dedicate some time to give it some food, Ibnul-Qayyim said, ‘The heat needs food, like the body becomes sick, the heart becomes sick.’ The prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

‘If this heart is pure then the rest of the body will be pure, and if it is corrupt then the rest of the body will be corrupt.’

Is it ever permissable to criticise such a Hadith?

I embrace, and am moved, by the truth of this Hadith.

Yet, my heart sees truth not woven fully into its word.

I am then discontent that this Hadith would then see me separated from God, and instead described as of the adversary.

I am saddened, and in lessening my sadness, would engage the author concerning the truth they offer.

Do I then do what is permissable?

??? :scratch:Well, they might - if they decide to accept Muhammad as the Final Messenger of God and the seal of the prophets.

033.038-047

There can be no reproach for the Prophet in what Allah has indicated to him as a duty. It was the practice (approved) of Allah amongst those who have passed away of old. And the command of Allah is a decree made absolute.

(It is the practice of) those who deliver the messages of Allah and fear Him, and do not fear any one but Allah; and Allah is sufficient to call (men) to account.

Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets; and Allah is ever Aware of all things.

O you who believe! remember Allah, remembering frequently, And glorify Him morning and evening.

He it is Who sends His blessings on you, and (so do) His angels, that He may bring you forth out of utter darkness into the light; and He is Merciful to the believers.

Their salutation on the Day that they meet Him will be, "Peace!"; and He has prepared for them an honourable reward.

O Prophet! Truly We have sent you as a witness, and as a bearer of good tidings and as a warner, And as one who invites to Allah's (grace) by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light.

Then give to the believers the good tidings that they will have great bounty from Allah.

004.064-065

We sent no messenger save that he should be obeyed by Allah's leave. And if, when they had wronged themselves, they had but come unto thee and asked forgiveness of Allah, and asked forgiveness of the messenger, they would have found Allah Forgiving, Merciful.

But nay, by thy Lord, they will not believe (in truth) until they make thee judge of what is in dispute between them and find within themselves no dislike of that which thou decidest, and submit with full submission. In addition, it is reported in the ahadiyth collected by Muslim & Bukhari, that

Abu Hurairah reported that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

The parable of myself and the other Prophets is that of a building which is complete except for one brick. Onlookers go around it marvelling at its construction and note the missing brick. It is I who has filled the empty place. No new messenger will come after me for the building is now complete.

Well, they might - if they decide to accept Muhammad as the Final Messenger of God and the seal of the prophets.Very well.
We must then explore, together, just what that means in practice.
It would be sad if such condition were to mean that some could not walk with you: as they walked in their garden of faith given truth, and you walked in yours.
God willing our gardens will be the same: no matter what gate we chose to enter by; no matter the difference in what we choose to plant in it.

This is another variation of the initial post by AbuMubarak. It more or less outlines the same event, of course Allah knows best:-

Once our beloved Prophet Mohammed (may the peace of Allah be upon him
and his Progeny) was walking out with his As'haabs (companions) from the
back side of the Jan'atul Baqi (Medina). As he was stepping out, he saw a
very old man with a colourful hat on his head, colourful belt with diamonds
on it was around his waist, with a bell in his left hand, and with a net in
his right hand. This old man said 'As salamu alaikum yah Rasool Allah' (O
Prophet of Allah may the peace of Allah be upon you) to our beloved Prophet.
Prophet didn't reply to his salaam. This old man knew why our Prophet didn't
reply to his salaam. After all this old man was not like any other old man,
he was Shaitan-the cursed one. Then Shaitan said, 'Salaam ul-llahai Alaykum
yah Rasool Allah' (Allah's peace be upon you O Prophet of Allah). Then, our
Prophet accepted his salaam. Now, the As'haabs (companions) of Prophet
understood that this was the cursed one Shaitan. All the As'haabs were
surprised to see the cursed one personally. Shaitan (the cursed one)
attempted to misguide even the Prophets and Imams. Shaitan-the cursed one
used to meet with prophets to answer any questions of the Prophets. In fact,
it was obligatory on him (the cursed Shaitan) to answer the questions of the
Messengers of Allah.
Our beloved Prophet, though he had all the Knowledge, only for the
sake of his companions, asked Shaitan-the cursed one the following
questions:

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
O Shaitan, people are interested in your hat, tell me what is this
hat?

Shaitan-the cursed one :
Shaitan the cursed one replied, o Prophet of Allah, my colourful hat
is this materialistic worldly goods, perishable worldly benefits, and
temporary worldly enjoyment. Once, any person get caught by this colourful
hat of mine, then that person stays in my control and forgets all about the
hereafter.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, what is this belt you are wearing with gold and diamonds
around your waist?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet, this is my second weapon which keeps my back bone strong. O
Prophet, those Momneens (believers) who do not get into my trap by my hat, I
use this weapon.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
But what is it?

Shaitan the cursed one :
O Prophet this are the worldly behijaabs (un-veiled) woman/girl of
this worlds. Through this behijaab (un-veiled) woman/girls I deceive the
momineens (believers).

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
But what is this bell you are holding in your left hand ?

Shaitan the cursed one :
This is the bell through which I destroy the imaan (faith) of the
believers.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
How do you do that ?

Shaitan the cursed one :
Whenever I see believers arguing with each other, getting into minor
verbal antagonism or disagreement with each other, then I ring this bell. As
I ring this bell, these believers get into major verbal fights and thy start
saying things (such as backbiting, false accusations or uses bad language)
to each other due to which there own imaan (faith) disappears from hearts.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
But what is this net you are holding?

Shaitan the cursed one :
When I see the believers not getting trap by any form of my weapons
then I throw this net at them as my last weapon.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
But what is this net ?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet of Allah, this is Riyah Kari (performing good deeds only to
show people). Whenever, I see that a believer is performing all the good
deeds and that person not getting caught by my weapon, then i throw this net
at them. By stepping at this net, their good deeds which they were
performing for Allah, becomes invalid. Because the believers gradually get
ego in them while performing all their prayers, observing fast, performing
Hajj, paying Zakat and Khums, and several other duties towards Allah. They
(believers) perform all these and other good deeds, but after they get
caught by my net, they show their good deeds to other and as though they
have done favour on Allah by performing such good deeds. They tell people
when they perform night prayers. they tell people when they fast, they tell
people when they go to Hajj. They give money in charity but only to show off
or for their personal interest. This is how they eventually feel superior to
those people whom they know are not performing these good deeds. All these
actions which take place after they step on my net makes their good deed go
waste (void).

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, tell me one more thing, now that you have spent so much of
your time in this life with your bad deeds, do you have any friend, Do you
have companion?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
Although, I visit all the houses and all the people in general, but I
have 11 (eleven) types of people, that are my best friends and companions.
And I have 15 (fifteen) types of people that I hate them the most. O
Prophet, keep in mind that a person who is my friend is an enemy of Allah,
and a person who is my enemy is a friend of Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
O shaitan tell me who are your friends and who are your enemies?
(Then, Shaitan told our beloved Prophet a list of his friends and a
list of his enemies. After he described his enemies our beloved Prophet
asked his reasons. We have excluded the question of our beloved Prophet and
simply listed the name or description of the enemy followed by his reason in
some cases.)

Shaitan-the cursed one:
Shaitan said, O Prophet of Allah, first I have 15 (fifteen) enemies,
and these are as follows:

ENEMIES OF SHAITAN (THE CURSED ONE)

1.. O Prophet of Allah, my first enemy is you and your Ahlul-Bait
(progeny) because if it wasn't for you and your AhlulBait, my mission
would be quite successful. There would have been not even a single believer
(follower of right path shown by Allah). You bought the religion of Allah
(al-Islam) to this world, You made people believers of Allah's
communication.

2.. O Prophet of Allah my second enemy is that just ruler who rules
a nation with complete justice.

3.. O Prophet of Allah, my third enemy is that rich person who does
not have any ego or feel superior to other poor people around him.

4.. O Prophet of Allah, my fourth enemy is that business man who
perform his business with justice.

5.. O Prophet of Allah my fifth enemy is that Aalim (scholar) who
fears Allah and practice what he preaches.

6.. O Prophet of Allah, my sixth enemy is that specific Mo'min
(believer) who work on showing other the path of truth. Who offer other the
knowledge of Wajibats (obligatory) and Haram (forbidden) duties of Allah.
This person is undoing all my hard work.

7.. O Prophet of Allah, my seventh enemy is that person who does not
listen to what is forbidden, does not see what is forbidden, and does not
eat what is forbidden.
Comment by Maulana Sadiq Hasan Qibla: This person does not look any
Na-Mehram women/men (a women with whom a man can marry or a man with whom a
woman can marry), does not watches movies or shows. This person prevent
himself or herself from listening to Music, Songs, lies, or Geebath
(Backbiting). This person does not eat forbidden food (meat which is not cut
according to the Islamic ways such as meat cut by non Muslim business men,
etc.) and that food which is not purchased with the halal (allowed) earnings
(such as earnings from selling alcohol, from gambling, from selling drugs
and from many other sources which are forbidden in Islam.)

8.. O Prophet of Allah, my eighth enemy is that believer who keeps
himself clean all the time. A person who stays in Wuzu and who wears clean
clothes.

9.. O Prophet of Allah, my ninth enemy is that person who has a big
heart. Who spents his/her money for the sake of Allah.
Comment by Maulana Sadiq Hasan: Once Prophet of Allah asked his
companion did you know that one Dinar can be more than One Lakh (hundred
thousand) Dinar? Prophet's companions replied no O Prophet of Allah. Then,
(our beloved) Prophet of Allah said, "If a person who owns for instance ten
lakhs and gives one lakh in charity is less than that poor man who owns two
dinnar and gives one dinnar in charity."

10.. O Prophet of Allah, my tenth enemy is that person who gives
Sadqa (charity) only for the name of Allah.

11.. o Prophet of Allah, my eleventh enemy is that person who reads,
memorizes, and act according to Quran.

12.. O Prophet of Allah, my twelfth enemy is that person who recites
"Namaz-e-Shab" (prayers recited after the midnight and before namaz Fajr). I
am always afraid of this person.

13.. O Prophet of Allah, my thirteenth enemy is that person who
offers his wajib (obligatory) Khums, wajib Zakat, and other wajib sadaqas.

14.. O Prophet of Allah, my fourteenth enemy is that woman who
observes Hijaab (Veil) and safeguards her Hijaab.

15.. O Prophet of Allah, my fifteenth enemy is that who performs his
"Ibadat" (such as prayers) without having thoughts except for the thoughts
of Allah.

After hearing the list of fifteen enemies of Shaitan, our beloved
Prophet of Allah (may the peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny) asked
Shaitan to name his eleven friends. Upon which, the cursed Shaitan named the
following eleven people:

THE FRIENDS OF SHAITAN (THE CURSED ONE)

1.. The first friend of mine is that leader who is a oppressor
(Zalim).

2.. My second friend is that business man who does his/ her business
by deceiving his / her customers.

3.. My third friend is that "Mo'min" (believer) who drinks alcohol.

4.. My fourth friend is that rich person who is proud of his wealth
and who angrily refuses to give money in charity to poor and needy.

5.. My fifth friend is that person who does backbiting (Geebat), who
talks to people in such a way that enemity increases between people and who
reveals the defects of people.

6.. My sixth friend is that person who kill other human being for
any reason other than for Allah.

7.. My seventh friend is that person who snatches away the
belongings (such as wealth) of an orphan.

8.. My eighth friend is that person whose livelihood is based on
collecting interest.

9.. My ninth friend is that person who gives more important to his
worldly life rather than giving important to his life after death. This
friend of mine prefers to performs those deeds which he know, will bring
benefits in this world but in hereafter such deeds will bring loss.

10.. My tenth friend is that person who keep long hopes and delays
in asking for forgiveness from Allah.
(Here Maulana gave the example of that person who delays in asking
forgiveness from Allah. For instance he said, "people refuse to ask
forgiveness from Allah because they say we are young and angel of death is
not running after us yet. Therefore these people, who delay in asking for
repentance, say we are not going to quit listening to music, we are not
going to observe Hijab, or we are not going to keep the beard. These people
say that they will do all this after ten or more years. These are the tenth
friends of Shaitan, because they keep long hopes and delay in asking for
forgiveness from Allah.")
11.. My eleventh friend is that person who helps women to increase
their interest in performing "Jaadu" (magic) on people.

After naming his eleven friends Shaitan-the cursed one said, "these
are my eleven friends who are the worst enemies of Allah".
Now the interview of shaitan (the cursed one) was continued by Prophet
Mohammed (may the peace of Allah be upon him and his progeny) as follows:

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, tell us why you stop my followers from offering their
prayers? What benefits you get out of it?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
Whenever your follower recites prayers, my body gets feverish and it
starts to shiver, and with a sick body I can't deceive your followers from
obeying Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Why do you stop my followers from observing fast (roza) during the
month of Ramadhan?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
When they fast they put me in prison, and I can't deceive them during
the time they fast because I end up in prison and I can't misguide them.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
When my flowers prepare to fight in Allah's way, why do you stop them?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
When they go to fight for Allah's sake, my hands get tight to my neck,
and I can't deceive them by having my hands tight to my neck.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Why do you prevent my followers from performing Hajj?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
When they go for Hajj, their movements of going towards Hajj ties my
legs. And with legs tied, I cannot misguide your followers from obeying
Allahs commands.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
why do you prevent my followers from reciting Holy Quran?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
When they recite the Holy Quran, my existence turns into nonexistence.
And, without having my existence, how can I deceive your followers from
living according to the will of Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Why do you prevent my followers from offering "Doa" (praying to
Allah)?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
When they recite Doa (such as Doa-e-Komail) I get deaf and dum. How
can I deceive your followers without having the ability to speak and ability
to listen.o prophet of Allah (s.a.w.) from living the life according to the
will of Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, tell me why you prevent my followers from paying Sadaqha?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet of Allah (s.a.w.), when your follower pay Sadaqha (giving
money in charity), it is as that they cut me with a saw in two pieces and
throw one pieces of mine in east and other piece in the west.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Why do you get such a strong blow when my followers pay Sadaqha? Why
do you get cut into two pieces?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
Whenever a person gives his / her money in charity, that person
receives three benefits from Allah. The first benefit such person receive is
that Allah becomes his / her borrowers. The second benefit such person gets
is that Allah makes Heaven in his / her inheritance (such that he / she will
be called as an owner of heaven). And, the third benefit he / she receives
is that such person gets 700 times increase in his / her wealth from Allah,
which in turn this person uses his / her increased wealth for charity.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, now tell me when does a person (who is my follower) gets
under your total control?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet of Allah, your followers gets under my total (absolute)
control when they perform three things The first thing is that when your
followers becomes stingy ("kanjoos") he gets under my total control. Stingy
is the root of all the sins which takes a person towards performing all
types of other sins. The second thing is that when a person gradually start
forgiving his / her sins. A person who perform such deeds which are against
the will of Allah and then after performing such deeds that person does
remember it and does not ask for any forgiveness, then that person gets
under my absolute control. O Prophet of Allah, any person who performs these
three deeds then that person gets under my absolute control.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, you know that Allah gave my followers a strong weapon of
forgiveness. Whenever, my followers, ask for true forgiveness with an
intention of not repeating that sin, Allah forgives them. How do you deal
with this problem?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
I know O Prophet of Allah, Allah has given them this strong weapon,
but I have prepared myself to confront your followers with their strong
weapon.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What method do you have through which you prevent my followers from
asking for forgiveness?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet of Allah, to deal with this problem I have created four
different units. Each unit deals with a different age groups of your
followers. In each unit group I make your followers perform such deeds which
make the repentance of your followers invalid (void).

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What are these units?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
The first unit is that I involve your old men indulging in four sins.
I make them lie, I make them accuse someone of something which they have not
done, I make them testify falsely, and I make them perfrom without having
the complete knowledge of the laws of performing prayers. O Prophet of Allah
(s.a.w.) your old men will be offering doas, offering prayers, and reciting
obligatory prayers, but if you talk to them you will hear them talking bad
about other people, testing the bad deeds of other people without being
their witness, and reciting obligatory prayers without knowing all the laws
of the prayers. Your old men will not try to learn the laws of prayers
because of their ego. Whenever some young men from your Ummat, try to
explain the right way of performing Wuzu, your old men will say that you
have just entered Islam and now you are trying to teach as how to perform
Wuzu.
O Prophet of Allah, my second unit is that which takes care of your
young man from your Ummath. I do not prevent your young man from reciting
prayers, performing Hajj, or doing anything else except that I get them
involved in two things. First thing I make them do is that they look at
things which are forbidden for them, and they will listen to those things
which are forbidden for them. (Here, by things these young men will look at
which are forbidden are girls, and things that these young men will listen
to is music/songs.)
O Prophet of Allah, my third unit is that which deceives your old
ladies. I make your old ladies perform Geebath (backbiting), falsely accuse
other people, destroy the character of other men and women, and get
interested in doing magic on other men and women.
O Prophet of Allah, my fourth unit is not active, because it is
suppose to take care of young girls of Ummath. Since all of your girls are
already my soldiers and I have a strong hold over them, I do not get any
hard time deceiving them. However, one in one thousand, I find such girl
which I see her may be following your way of life, and I will not be able to
do anything to deceive her.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, tell me do you get upset when you see any of your soldier get
out of your hand and follow Allah's commands?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
No, O Prophet of Allah, I don't get upset. I wait till that person
performs any good deed, and then I go to that person again and deceive him /
her so that he / she feels that he did a favour to Allah by performing such
a good deed.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
You make that person feel that he did favour to Allah?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
Yes, O Prophet of Allah, that person goes around after performing a
good deed and tells people what he did, such as that I recited namaz, I
observed fast, I paid so much money to that person, or I helped that person
in his bad times.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, how do you deceive those followers of mine who try their best
not to get deceived by you?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
Allah made one deed which if your followers performed it with right
intention and at right time they can never get deceived by me. And that deed
is Namaz (Salat/obligatory prayers). But, to solve this problem, what I did
is that with every one of your followers I have assigned one of my soldier
whose name is "Mutawaqee". And, his job is to make your follower lazy and
involved in such activities due to which your follower recites namaz at the
last time. When your follower recites namaz (salat) in last minute, he / she
recites it in such a way that his namaz is not acceptable to Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, since you know so much about Islam and its followers, why
don't you ask Allah for forgiveness?
Comment by maulana Sadiq Hasan: Here Shaitan the cursed one gave a
true Satanic answer. He recited five Ayath from our Holy Quran and gave
answer. Since we are not so much interested in why Shaitan is not asking for
his forgiveness, and we are interested in why we don't ask for forgiveness,
I will skip the details of his answer.

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet of Allah, Allah does not want me to ask forgiveness. What
can I do? (Here Shaitan used the illogical proof from Holy Quran. However,
you will find some Muslims using such proves in defending themselves. Such
as they argue that Allah does not call me to perform Hajj or to offer
prayers.)

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan, I heard that sometimes you feel that as somebody threw a
heavy stone on your head which breaks your head in several pieces?

Shaitan-the cursed one:
O Prophet of Allah, yes it is true, Whenever your followers truly ask
Allah for true repentance, I feel like that.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
I heard that sometimes you feel like someone is slapping you?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes, when your follower recite Quran with right pronounciation.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
When do you get to the bottom part of Hell?
Shaitan-the cursed one:
When your follower performs a good deed towards their parents or
towards their family members.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
I heard that sometimes your whole body gets pain?
Shaitan-the cursed one:
Yes, when your follower pay in charity without showing off.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
I heard that sometimes you feel that someone is whipping you?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
That person who does not business with deceiving people.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
When do you get hurt the most?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
When your followers remember Allah during their hours of day and
night.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
With whom do you fear the most?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
I fear those one who recite salat (prayers) in the first row of jamat.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Which people among my followers you have choosen them to be your
permanent soldiers?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Any of your follower who used any type of intoxicating beaverages.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Which person makes you laugh?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
That person who encourages other to commit sins. (Example : A person
who invites
people to a party in which namehram men and women mixes without
observing proper Hijaab.)

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
With whom do you speak the most?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
A person who lies the most.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Who is the most pleasing to you?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Any man who gives divorce to an innocent women.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Do you have any more hands?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes, that person who delays in offering his obligatory prayers.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Shaitan where do you stay the most?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
A place where Na-Mehram men and women get together without any
separation or observing Hijaab, that is my place to stay.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Where do you meet people?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Bazaars (shopping mails). I try to make buyers deceive sellers and
sellers deceive buyers. I try to make men do their business with women and
women to do business with men. I try to make people do all types of sins in
Bazaars (shopping mails).

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What do you read?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
I read songs.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What is your way of calling people towards committing sins?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Music and songs. Whenever your follower listens to music he / she
comes towards me.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What is your book?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
My books are playing cards.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Who is your helper?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Any person who gives losses to Muslims.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What do you eat?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
I eat everything which is earned by forbidden ways of earnings or by
not paying the Khums.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What do you drink?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
I drink Alcohol.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What is your dessert (any sweet thing eaten after food)?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Gheebat (back-biting).

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Do you have any desires?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Every false commitment is my desire.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Are you thankful for anything?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes, I am thankful to those men and women who indulge in sins after
asking Allah for forgiveness.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Do you relax?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes, when your followers misses Fajr (morning) prayers.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Do you get any rewards from my followers?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes, whenever, your followers break their relationships with their
relatives or neighbours.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Do you have any companions?
Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes, that person who have sex with his wife without saying
"Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem" ( Here sex reffers to Allowed Intercourse,
ZINAA - Un Allowed Sex is Haraam Anyway) and that person whose earnings are
though unislamic ways.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
What deed of my follower makes you angry?
Shaitan - the cursed one :

Four men : a) Humble rich men. Aalim who practices what he
preaches. c) Young men who ask for forgiveness. d) Old men who fear Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (s.a.w.) :
Are you alone or do have any companions?

Shaitan - the cursed one :
Yes. I have some companions who are sitting at mosque to deceive its
visitors. My companions make the visitors of Allah's mosque talk about such
thing which make these visitors get bad deeds instead of good deeds. Other

"ha-satan" is not a name as much as it is a designation. It is a very valid and well-understood designation in Hebrew Scripture and Judaic writings. It's best translation from Hebrew to English is "the adversary," imho.

"Ha-elohim l'hityazuv al Adonai v'yavo gam ha-Satan b'tocham."
The angels came to stand before the Lord and the adversary came, too, among them.--(Job 1:6)

If you look throughout the book of Job you find "ha-satan", "the Satan (i.e the Adversary)," not "Satan."

But philology aside:

ha-satan is just another one of the many spiritual messengers (angels) that God sends to accomplish His purpose. ha-satan of course has no power independent of G-d; otherwise this would imply a lack of G-d's all-inclusive control and power.

The definition of the Hebrew word "satan" means an adversary (see Numbers 22:22). ha-satan's mission is to tempt people away from G-d and lead them astray. In this way, G-d gives a person the opportunity to strengthen their loyalty and connection to G-d. (c.f. Talmud - Baba Batra 15a)

The story of Job is a classic case where ha-satan is sent to challenge one's relationship with G-d. (In the Book of Job, the building of the "challenge" is metaphorically portrayed as a dialogue, to make it easier for the reader to absorb the message.)

great

another islamic thread that gets its infusion of judaism

where are the verses where the jews condemned their prophets? or how they were a people who caused G-d's anger?

History, we are muslims, we follow the Last Prophet, who has instructed us to believe in the Prophets who came before, including ya'qub, ibraheem, is'haq, isma'eel, musa, haroon, etc

we are calling you to the Last Revelation of G-d, why are you calling us to that which G-d has already told us is astray?

Sorry, Abu.
What is it about Judaism (or Christianity) that bothers you so much when there is so much we share and can learn from each other?
I find the similarities and differences between the 3 Abrahamic faiths fascinating.
And all relevent. [Psalms 145:18]

because your overall premise is that religion is a multiple-choice

you can choose either A, B or C

when Allah says clearly that those before were for those before, and now there is only one choice

so for us to sit and go thru the past revelations is only an exercise in futility

if anything, as muslims, we are to believe in them, accept them, and then build on what we have now

not live in some hodgepodge of interfaith ideologies

Dear AbuMubarak,

That story really made my skin crawl especially the lines below:

When it is time for prayer, I make them imagine that there is still time, that they are busy. They should enjoy what they are doing, they can always pray later! I hope they will die before doing their next prayer. If I don't succeed again, I enter into their prayers. I tell them, "Look to the right, look to the left! Think of the past, plan your future!" And when they do, I caress their cheeks and kiss their foreheads and take the peace from their hearts

Do you have anymore that I can pass to my friends???

Thank you AbuMubarak for making us remember

So basically everything that you profess to hate about 'Muslim culture' you decide to follow.

Baa what a sheep.

Is your motto if you can't beat crazy-os join them?

Dear Abu,
Thank you for your post.
when Allah says clearly that those before were for those before, and now there is only one choice
Similarly, G-d tells the Christians that no one can come to the Father except through him.

Similarly G-d warns Israel of those who come after and makes claims in His Name.

You, as a Muslim, say you have it right based on Allah's word in the Quran.
A Christian will state he/she has it right based on Jesus' word in the NT.
A Jew understands he/she has it righ based on G-d's word in the Torah.

Each can claim the others have got it wrong.
But this cannot be inerrantly proven.

And it is inconsequential to a Just G-d/Allah who commands justice, loving-kindness (charity, righteousness, etc.), and humility as evidence of obiesence. For these all three, Muslim, Christian, and Jew (and every human being ftm) should and can do under Allah/G-d.

It is our own vanities which divide us from the One G-d that seeks to unite us in love, imho.

But as you do not wish me to post here, I'll respect you wishes and leave.

Many blessings to you,

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I fear that this hadith may be inauthentic.

Though I did not finish reading it (primarily bcos I doubt its authenticity), i realise it talks about many parts of our actions & obligations as muslims. And i also realise that what it talks about relates to many of us today.

But the reason i doubt its authenticity is this- since the hadith talks about fasting and prayer and other things, i believe at least some of it should have been quoted by the leading scholars or others in their books about these things. But this is my very first time to see this hadith and i have never before seen it quoted in any Fatwa or article by anybody. And thats why I fear that this hadith may be fabricated.

I might be wrong and I would love to be corrected.
Please let me know if any body has proof that this hadith is not da’eef (weak) or even mawdoo’ (fabricated).

Thanks.

This is quite a heavy thing. Please do state the source. This is the first time I have come across this. I am having second thoughts.

Ok now this is very disrespectful.

The brother starts a thread which is quiet specific in its audience. It is a Hadith, and the Hadith are valuable to the Muslims mainly. So the teachings would be aimed at the Muslims, but the non Muslims could also benefit if they wish.

However this does not mean you guys can come along and Hijack the message of the thread. If you don’t know what the truth is then seek it, and like Jesus says in the bible "seek ye the truth and it shall set you free". So how about you go start another thread and call it "seeking the truth" then we may come and give you directions where to find it.

Secondly if you think your Google search or your wikipedia search is going to lead you to the origin of Yewah then please think again.

If you guys want respect from us, as guests in our Muslim forum, then learn to respect us in what we believe and not respect if we compromise. Multiculturalism right?

So all you guys who want to discuss Christianity and its belief system, Judaism and what its belief of truth or any other religion, then we have Comparative Religion for you. Go there and if you really want us to come over there then send us a pm.

But DON’T be rude, this is just filthy rude hijacking our religious threads to wack on your inconsistent thoughts.
