I had that when I first installed the first version, but I can't remember how I solved that problem.

I can translate from English to Arabic, but i have to figure out how can I tranlsate from Arabic to English.

The moment, i click alwafi.zip, i can see executable files such as:

a) Golden Al-Wafi Translator.Cab
b) setup.exe
c) msttsl.exe
d) spchapi.exe

Out of the above-said four files, setup.exe i.e. (b) shows me an error. (a) leads me to another set of files whose executable programs aren't working particularly the core setup.exe within it shows an error message. So, either "Golden Al-Wafi Translator.Cab" isn't getting us all the required files or it may be the sub-setup file within it is corrupted. (c) and (d) are easily-executable.

Any solutions???

it will automatically start to download when it is finished it will be a .zip file extract it to a new folder,open the folder inside there will be another folder open that one and double click the setup.exe then it should install properly.

Oooooh so tempting to download these software for free!

But I do note that Golden Wafi 2.0 costs £75 and Easy Lingo (Instant Translator English-Arabic) costs $39.95- commercially.

I am not a scholar, and am not an expert on whether pirating is allowed or not in Islam. The issue seems to be whether copyright protection is an accepted concept in Islam. The little research I did suggests that there is some difference of opinion on this matter, but more scholars seem against it (see references below).

Since there IS a difference of opinion, please note I am not saying pirating is haraam. However, I do think we as Muslims should be as well informed about these issues as possible and then act (or not act!).

Please note that I have been guilty of pirating software- but Insha Allah I will try not to do so anymore! (my Ramadan resolution!)

The Permanent Committee for Iftaa' (Islamic Rulings), chaired by Sheikh Abdul-Aziz bin Baz, has replied to this question by ruling that it is not permissible to copy software without permission from the original author or the copyright holder based on the following three haadeeth of the Prophet (peace be upon him):

(1) "Muslims are to honor their agreements (with others)";

(2) "A Muslim's wealth is forbidden for others to use without his permission;" and,

(3) "Whoever is the first to acquire a mubaah (something lawful to acquire) is entitled to keep it". This applies to both Muslims and non-believers (who are not engaged in an act of war with Muslims) because the right of a non-believer is respected in the same manner as a Muslim's right. Allah knows best. (Committee Fatwa no: 18453)

Also, Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih Al-'Uthaimeen has ruled that whatever is customary among people should be the rule except when a user wants a copy for himself and the author or the copyright holder did not explicitly prohibit copying the software for private or public use. However, if the author or the copyright holder specifically stated that private and public copying of the software is prohibited, then it is not permissible to copy that software.
