an extension channel > well a girlie guide wud be b4 channel 1 (or bbc) setting on ur video u go back a channel and u shud see ur extension channels. These depending on the age and brand of ur video will appear as channel AV1.. AV2 etc or EXT1 or EXT2......

one of these will be the extension channel u plugged in ur dvd scart lead too.

On older videos (eg the 1980s/90s) there maybe a extension switch instead.

Copying video to video is the same u just need buy a double scart lead - pls consult ur nearest Argos catalogue for further details.

alternatively... get married... let the hubby sort it out :D

a much more appealing suggestion.... but since I dont think thats gna happen with in the next couple of months, I will have 2 try and sort it out myself :(

juvenille mullah... lol im sorry, but that explanation was still too complecated for me :banghead:

im a bit  cos I've never heard of av1 av2 etc... on my tv, the video channel is set to 0 i think, so i have 2 find out wat channel the dvd is by pressing channel 1 on the video and going back?!

and then how do I set my video 2 tape channels like ext and av or whatever, I only know how 2 do number channels like 1,2,3 etc??

lol u may hav 2 explain very slowly in words of no more than 2 syllables and no technical phrases :banghead:

hey how do you plug the scart lead in then? because my sister said it's already plugged into the dvd, so do i have to take it out and plug into the video???

also... my video only has the channels 1-8... or so it seems?

If your VCR has a SCART input socket, you can connect your DVD player directly to your VCR, and then connect your TV to the VCR - thereby viewing the DVD on your TV via the VCR, which will be recording it.

If it doesn't have a SCART input, you will have to use the AV outputs on the back of your DVD player, and connect them to the AV inputs on the back of your VCR. AV stands for audio-video, and there will be usually be one wire for video and one/two wires for audio, and you will need to connect the respective sockets on the back of your DVD and VCR to each other (they will be colour-coded).

Hope I've made sense (I am so bad at explaining this kinda stuff :( )

Bear in mind that copying may not work if the DVD has copy protection (a.k.a. "macrovision") enabled. Some DVD players can disable macrovision, some can't (depends on the make and model).

The sockets should be colour-coded too.

Look around the back, the brand name should be there somewhere, if it isn't on the front.
