View Full Version : Freezing computer
Okay, my comp has many problems, I realise!!
Anyone think why my comp keeps freezing? It mostly freezes in the middle of starting up or once the comp has started up and windows is loaded. I've run virus checks like a million times, no viruses on the comp...
~sigh~ dunno wat to do :crying:
1) there may be Programmes slowing it down remove the unwanted start up programmes
go to Start>run>msconfig click the Start up tab remove the junk u dont want make sure u dont remove any critical Files..
2) another way around msconfig is services
start>run> type services.msc
it willl open up a services tab local one..scroll thru the list if there is any junk there remove it..But only use it if u know what ur doing!! or it cud mess ur system up
I fu dont know how to use msconfig or services.msc dont mess about wid it
run scandisk...defrag... chkdsk
etc
don't ask me to do complicated stuff, i'll end up making the comp worse!

Have you checked whether your computer is overheating? A malfunctioning fan could cause overheating, making the system hang like that.
If temperature isn't the problem, I'd recommend formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows in such a situation.
You did not change any device on it?Once the mouse made the computer to freeze. Look in control panel, system if you not have any "?" symbols.
