Isn't "ducks" slang for girls in England?
Or was that only in the '60's? :)

'Ducks', or 'ducky', was a word used by older cockney women on youths of either sex when being friendly and condescending at the same time. 'Luv', or 'luvvy' was used in the same way. Don't know about now.
What are ducks (the quack quack type) in the country gotta be stressed about, sajid?

Seeing that I live in California I must first admit that I am not personally familiar with the ecology of London and nearby locals. However, I do know ducks. A duck likes to have a nice safe lake to swim in with an easy food supply. London central probably has a lot of food, but too many ducks. The surrounding areas have less crowds but still plenty of ponds. In other words, the ratio of ducks to old ladies with bread crumbs is higher in the suburbs.
I vote outside London.

I'd say that the city ducks are nurtured by the human population feeding them, and with few predators they have no stress regarding their own survival.
Country ducks are on their own as far as feeding goes, and have the additional natural hazards of both animal and human hunters.
Write in vote: Country ducks are more stressed.
Yesterday I didn't know, today I think I do.

Saj, are you talking about that study which showed that ducks in London *quacked* louder and harsher than their countryside counterparts?
I don't think it came down to stress, more of an issue of noise, where the London ducks have got to *quack* louder to be heard because its such a noisy city! :meow: <--(closest smilie I could find to a duck. )

Birds seem to like men with crumbs in their pockets. :p
lol i dont have crumbs in my pocket ROFL
I am not in London but always in towns the birds are more stressed than outside. Its only their instinct which make them runaway from humans. So you need to enjoy the quack, quack from distance.:)
