"O' Sinner Man, Where you gonna run to...All on that Day?"
(Didn't fly on General);)

What is Sin?

Sin is a term of relative values against the background of Perfection. In as much as there is only One Perfect Sentinent Being of the Universe, who has no defect in His Eternal Being, who resembles nothing that the human mind can concieve, and who has no need to change or enter into any shape or form of "His" Creations to know or understand them: know that "His" Knowledge reaches into every atom and mote of the universe: ALL ELSE other than "He" is a creation by "Him", and subject to change.

Mankind, against this backdrop lives and has it's being in the world of imperfections. It's mission, should we choose to accept it (for we were given the gift of intellect and "free will") places us on a sliding scale of sin.

We live within the parameters of Good and Evil. These are the given factors. Everything comes from the Creator, yet change comes unto them. This is "mortal" life of generation and regeneration - constant change.

Pious souls that strive in the way of the Creator, who seek rememberance of "Him" in everything they say and do, they become closer to "Him" and it behooves them to seek others who have the self same habits of rememberance as themselves a friends. To seek the friendship of those on the other side of the scale who reject their Creator,Deny "His" Truth, and shun "His"Word, in their every day life, is an abonimation.

This does not mean that one cannot interact with individuals from various walks of life. However, one must guard oneself from the harm that may issue from them... such as backbiting, lying, cheating, physical and mental torture, and even death at their hand. The most dangerous creature being the hypocrite, who weaves a subtle web of entraptment around his victims.

Astrology, psychics, seers have the same earmarks of those who have True Vision and Divine Inspiration and hidden gifts, yet their root,(even though it has been decreed in the "predestiny of man") is a root that reaches into the house of Price Iblis, the Prince of Darkness. White and Black Magic, the Voodo arts are real, and their signs have been made clear for all to see. Simply they should be avoided.

Many seekers of Truth are Muslims in their hearts, but they do not know it. We cannot be the judges of others,(Allahu ta'ala is the Only and Final Judge) but the true Muslims will be known by their fruits.

The Native Americans have at one time been given the Message of "The Great Spirit". They are an oral culture and have handed down from generatiion to generation the ancient traditions. They parallel the traditions of the Muslim and Jewish cultures, which are also oral in thier inner structure. In as much as these traditions adhear to Muslim tradition, one can grow close to the people. However, when what once was pure has become corrupt, one must advise and withdraw oneself to a safe distance.

How else, except by social and business contacts can one mingle and plant the seed of truth? In the days of the Blessed Prophet of Muhammad(pbuh) It was the good manners and good conduct of Muslims in all their daily affairs in commerce, government, and social life that attracted millions to embrace the Message of the Prophet(pbuh)...
not the sword.

Those who say that there is a defect inherent in the religion of Islam, most often need to look within their own hearts to see if that defect is being projected by their own inner bias. The Bible is full of atrocities of human behaviour. Mankind needs to realise that there is only One God, One Message, and One Reality, that has been proscribed for all mankind to follow. But, they do it not.

To be Muslim means to surrender to the Will of God. God's knowlege of before and after is All Knowing. His Being sustains the entire universe. Every atom, every leaf of every tree, every human being, every planet, every star, every galaxy. "He" slumbers not,nor does "He" ever sleep. "He" tires not in sustaining "His" Creation. Even though "He" has given mankind free will, "He" Knows how we will use it. If you are really, really, close to someone, you can almost predict how and what they will say and do in any given circumstance..."Hey, I just knew you would say that".

On a scale of Infinte Greatness, our Creator has written and sealed the Book of Life. On the Day of Judgement the Book will be opened. It will be compared to the book of Deeds and Actions, which the Angels have been compiling over the ages... and it will be the same. And all of this pertaining to this universe is as one drop of water in His Vast Ocean.

All Power and Glory be unto Our Creator!

To the non-muslim guests on this forum: I hope that this lengthy account, should you have read the entire thing, has not bored you and put you to sleep. Rather I hope it has impressed with the magnitude of your Creator and has had the opposite effect of Awakening the "Essence of Muslim" locked in your hearts.

"That which is lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart."

Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim

If by happenstance it has made a dent in your understaning, I urge you to seek Shahada.

Good post.

The only thing I see is that a lot of Muslims on the site claim that since someone else is sinning, it is acceptable that they sin. Of course they won't say it like that, but that's what it is.

I personally am agnostic and respect people of all faiths. I don't want anyone to force their beliefs on me, and I don't do that either. Educating others, though, is another thing. If people have a certain religion in their hearts after being educated about it, they're a true believer.

Kind regards

The religion is only one. Mankind has always invented and added things on to the message, or deleted what they found too hard or inconvienient...but the Message, The Din, has been and always will be: ONE.

You might be walking along an ocean beach, watching some spectacular, knock your socks off sunrise, and BAM! a viel is lifted from your eyes and all of Creation is seen as One. Or, you may be stuck in a solitary little cell and BAM! There are no more walls, a viel is lifted, and you can see beyond the horizion and know and feel the Unity of all Creation. There are a million and one ways that Allahu ta'ala lifts the veils of opacity from our hearts.

One day you will realise that the Din is not something outside of YOU. You will realise that you are the Din and that the Din IS You! That is when you will really know what Islam IS. When your heart is flooded with the Nur (Light) of Allahu ta'ala, your whole being will be filled with Love for Him and all that He loves. Like an iron filing on a piece of paper, your whole being will turn to face the positive spiritual pole, which like a magnet draws us ever closer to itself.

Right now, you are still in the mode of denial and spearation. This may pass, then again it may not. Only Allahu ta'ala makes Muslims. Among muslims there are those known as Mukmin. They are a person from whom all the Muslim Brotherhood are safe from the harm of his mouth and his hand, and from among the Mukmin there are those from whom all creatures of creation are safe from their mouths and their hands.

But as I said, right now you can't see it.
