p.s please refrain from mentioning pork or anything i think it will offend some :)
Hmmm, my favorite food, Dont really know.
Lets see, there are many good things.
Well one of my favorites is Shiskebab.
You take some meat (any will do, lamb is the best and cow isnt the greatest, it becomes a bit tough and hard)
cut it into pieces and put into a pot or anything like it, add onions, garlic, salt, pepper (black) and some vinyger (sour thing) and a little bit of water (mineral is the best).
Then you let the meat stay in the fridge or some dry and colder place for atleast 4 hours although a day is suggested.
Then just take the meat (only) and put them on a metal stick and roast it on open fire, until its ready.
In addition when eating you should add to it: bread, ketchup or some sauce and some salad.
For dessert: well Ice Cream is good, also I like White chocolate very much.

Alhamdulillah for food! :D
Your lists sound interesting! I like many kinds of food. My favourite vegetable of all has to be corn, either on the cob or off, it's just delicious! Mmmmm. My favourite meal I can eat anytime is fried fish and homemade bread with lots of homemade hot pepper sauce. Also I like potatoes! Those tubers are so versatile! In a curry, mashed, boiled, fried....they are just good :)
My favourite drinks are ice cold fruit juices made of lemons, limes, oranges - basically any citrus jiuce is refreshing better than soda pop. I only really like one kind of soda and that is ginger-ale, but I can sometimes take on a 7-up with slices of lemon and limes in it....I think I can talk about food forever. I enjoy many varieties. From Asian to Afrikkan and onwards...Tabouleh, falafel, chana masala, injeera, fresh naan from the tandoor, peas pilau...thanks to Allah(swt) for blessing us with these beautiful bounties of sustenance - Allahu akbar!
Allaah hafiz ;) sis M.
MS you are better to boycott those coca-cola products as one cent of each of your purchase supports those killing our brothers, sisters and their children by the yahuud
Fav food...Salsa!
The only thing better than salsa is lots & lots of salsa.
I may be a gringo, but I've got the taste buds of a Mexican.

:DMy fav food is organic food. Most people think that this is an expensive option, but if you shop around it can be quite cheap.
did you know that the chemicals that they put in our foods have been linked to,
cancer, memory loss, strokes, obesity, eczema, acne, and nearly every other disorder that i can think of (but can't spell)
the more people that buy organic food, the cheaper it will become.
as well as this, organic foods usually come in recycled packaging, and can be recycled again when you have finished with them!

Sticky and Seven, no offence, but it seems to me that you guys are married:D. You are always arguing and have pointless things to say about each other to try to make them feel bad. Anywayz, i must admit that Sticku you do have funny post, maybee even the funniest, but i don't think that its the same when seven isn't responding. Bit like Lano and Woodley, or Albert and Costello (Ok no where near but i neaded an example). Hmm, thats given me an idea, a poll, who has the funniest posts? That should decide it. As for Fav food, and being completley serious here, it has to be Daal (simple) with Roti and CHUTNEY... Hmm, i cannot get enough of Chutney.
Also love Pizza, skittles are Ok, but no big Chocolate fan. A mars bar in a year would satisfy my cravings. Also cannot escape a good salad sandwich, or chicken lettuce and mayo...hmmmm...i can go on and on, but i won't.

yummy!!!
i dunno if anyone's noticed but i find food is tastier if you eat with your fingers rathers than spoons/forks/chop-sticks! :D
Ruqayyah
09-09-02, 09:53 PM
Yup, and there's actually enzymes in the tips of your fingers that aid digestion.
And if a fly fell in the Prophet's (saw) soup or water would dip it fully before taking it out. Now I'm probably not using the correct scientific language:confused: but it has been discovered that a fly has good and bad bacteria or whatever, and if you dip before removing the good germs counteract the bad germs.
Summat like that, anyways. Sounds gross, but is a sunnat way of not wasting food, and preventing harm. Alhamdulillah

This is my reply to Sajid's original question or rather to one of them.
No single food is my favourite, but I just had a couple of rye sandwiches with slices of salted and uncooked salmon as well as dill on top. They were absolutely delicious, although I wonder whether other people can even imagine what salted and uncooked salmon is like. I've met some foreign people who've said they could never even think of tasting uncooked fish.

Too Much Food
The consumption of small amounts of food guarantees tenderness of the heart, strength of the intellect, humility of the self, weakness of desires, and gentleness of temperament. Immoderate eating brings about the opposite of these praiseworthy qualities.
Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'd Yakrib said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "The son of Adam fills no vessel more displeasing to Allah than his stomach. A few morsels should be enough for him to preserve his strength. If he must fill it, then he should allow a third for his food, a third for his drink and leave a third empty for easy breathing."[15]
Excessive eating induces many kinds of harm. It makes the body incline towards disobedience to All?¢h and makes worship and obedience seem laborious - such evils are bad enough in themselves. A full stomach and excessive eating have caused many a wrong action and inhibited much worship. Whoever safeguards against the evils of overfilling his stomach has prevented great evil. It is easier for shaytan to control a person who has filled his stomach with food and drink, which is why it has often been said: "Restrict the pathways of shaytan by fasting."[16]
It has been reported that when a group of young men from the Tribe of Israel were worshipping, and it was time for them to break their fast, a man stood up and said: "Do not eat too much, otherwise you will drink too much, and then you will end up sleeping too much, and then you will lose too much."
The Prophet and his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, used to go hungry quite frequently. Although this was often due to a shortage of food, Allah decreed the best and most favourable conditions for His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. This is why Ibn Umar and his father before him - in spite of the abundance of food available to them - modelled their eating habits on those of the Prophet . It has been reported that Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "From the time of their arrival in Madina up until his death , the family of Muhammad never ate their fill of bread made from wheat three nights in a row."[17]
Ibrahim ibn Adham said: "Any one who controls his stomach is in control of his deen, and anyone who controls his hunger is in control of good behaviour. Disobedience towards Allah is nearest to a person who is satiated with a full stomach, and furthest away from a person who is hungry."

As Salaamu Alaikum
very good ending to a whole lot of unnecessary discussion. This was a very good choice of posts mashaa Allah. we must remember for the sake of Aqeeqahs and walimas also the meal was not a huge full course meal with all the fixings, the food of choice was kept in moderation yes again due to lack there of but it is said that The Prophet saw would not take into consumption an overabundance of food even if it was there for Him saw to take. And Allah knows best. Anyhow good naseeha

No, Sajid is not calling for food now despite Ramadan. I was searching some old stuff and found this.
I just wonder how many of you are actually calling for food at some time of the day, when you are busy fasting.

But 'busy fasting'... there's nothing to it..
You should try it..

Many diseases that are commmon place today such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol levels, heart disease can be partly linked to the fact that we eat way too much..
They say 'Eat lots of vegetables and fruits'.. but even the vegetarians get high cholesterol.. the problem is we eat too much, its not necessarily what we we eat...
We eat till we can eat no more.. till we start to belch and burp..
