We at Expressindia.com appreciate our readers' interest in sending comments on 'The 'spectacular success' of Indian Taliban' and are pleased to publish them:
I found reaction from most of the respondents biased and ignorant. Ignorant because Islam is not a religion of any Mullah or Taliban or an Imam. It is a universal religion and nearly 60 countries have a muslim majority population. Their religion is a book which has not changed for 1500 years and has withstood the test of time.
In Islam forbidden are killing, raping, homosexuality, abduction & highway robbery - all punishable by death.Any objection? Further prohibited are bribery, gambling, drinking, dancing, witchcraft, fortune telling, nudity and eating of pork & carrion. Any objection? If the respondents don\'t know, they should ask, or they should buy a book, read & then respond. Do you like me to judge Hinduism by those who rape nuns & women, burn untouchables, tear down non-Hindu places of worship, pillage & plunder civil properties, love nudity, degrade human beings, etc.
Then I can write volumes. No, I never judge Hinduism by people & it is fair you don't judge Muslims or Islam by people! Buy their book which is available everywhere & then challenge learned Muslims on issues you think that do not stand the test of time! Then I respect you, listen to you & may be obey you. Are you prepared? If not, keep away from passing cheap comments & degrade yourself.

Suthra,Panjabi-humour poet,wrote over 60 years back, while poking fun at the prevalent weird religious-taboos,of Hindus/Sikhs/Muslims:"jine badhi dhari,muzab nu khatra"--"jine badhi-saree,muzab nu khatra"-"jine katti-dhari,muzab nu khatra"-"jine bodhi katti,mazab nu khatra"-"jine skirt pai,muzab nu khatra"--"jine muslim-bahu pai,mazab nu khatra"-"eh mazab na hoya,hoyi mom-bati,pighal gayi phoren,laghi dhup tatti"!
This is just a part of his poem that I could remember and it fits into the present day though the past-decades of time have changed the entire fabric of our societies. If it is translated into English, its original charm would vanish.
Unfortunately, the radical-clerics still keep themselves wrapped-up in the old medieval-days of practices.Instead of moving with the times, these radicals, would go to the roof-tops,to raise a slogan that their religions are "threatened"and are "in danger" in this fast moving-world!Are our religions so "frail"not to withstand the sweeping cultural modernizational trends in our societies? Centuries before people used to ride ponnies/mules/horses/or other animals .Are we riding these animals now?
