HUQUQ ALLAH - THE RIGHTS OF ALLAH
by Br Abu Muntasir (Jam'iat Ihyâ Minhâj As-Sunnah)

Note: just in case your thinking, this is NOT a boring topic!

Date: Sunday 18th January 2004
Time: 11 am - 1 pm

The entire Islamic world, without exception, is in a state of
turmoil and upheaval. Why, one may ask, are Muslims in this
distressfully disorganised state? What is the answer? Where
did we go wrong? It is human nature to search for scapegoats,
because this allows us to avoid facing the real problems and
also to postpone solutions. We cannot simply dismiss the whole
issue by saying that this miserable condition of the Muslims
is simply because there are no true muslims in the world.
Nor can we keep putting the blame on the the Western media
by claiming that there is a grand conspiracy against Islam.
Or make generalised statements that since Muslims are not
practicing Islam, these catastrophic conditions are nothing
but the lightning rod of God (Al-Qahr Al-Ilâhi). Granting
that there may be some truth in all these statements or
explanations, it is indeed naive to look for a single cause
for the perplexing and intractable problems that confront
the Muslims today.

Without a doubt, one of the major reasons for our state is
that we are still not fulfilling the rights that are due to
Allah (swt), hence our ignorance and ingratitude has added
to this mess. Knowing these rights and actually implementing
them would be the key to our revival. Which begs the question,
what are the rights of Allah (swt) over His servants?

Insha'Allah, Brother Abu Muntasir will further elaborate on
Huqûq Allâh - the Rights of Allah. We look forward to seeing
you there, and your participation in what should be a very
informative and enlightening Q & A session after the lecture.
