An informative and beneficial course introducing the student to the Science of Hadith, the second source of the Islamic Law. Based on Imam Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalani’s Nuzhatul-Nazar Fi Sharhi nukhbatul-Fikar, this course will cover the core principles and fundamentals of hadith terminology and criticism.
It is a rare opportunity to be graced in the West with the presence of scholars such as Shaikh Salah-ud-Din (see biography below). Out of town participants are highly encouraged to attend.
Part 1 – January 17-18, 2004

In Part 1, emphasis will be on teaching and clarifying the text, providing concrete examples from the books of hadith and introducing the student to various chains of transmission and to the science of Rijal (transmitters of hadith).
Part 2 – January 23-25, 2004
=====================
In Part 2, focus will shift to selected passages of the text into which the shaikh will delve. Discussions will result in a deeper understanding and synthesis of the hadith sciences. To that end, a number of “relevant” hadiths will be considered and analyzed.
· Registration is $30 CAD.
· Please add $20 per weekend for lunch and dinner (or bring your own)

Shaikh Salah-ud-Din al-Idlibi was born in Aleppo, Syria from a family of scholars. He studied under many scholars both locally and abroad including the like of Shaikh Murabbi Abdullah Siraj el-Din; Shaikh Abdul-Fattah AbuGhuddah; Shaikh Abdul-Aziz Al-Ghumari of Morocco and others. Shaikh Salah-ud-Din holds a Ph.D in Hadith Sciences from Al-Qarawayyin University in Rabat, Morocco; where he also taught for two years. Afterward, he moved to Riyad, Saudi Arabia where he taught for about 10 years at Imam Muhammad Ibn-Saud University. Shaikh Salah-ud-Din currently teaches Hadith and other sciences in UAE. Prior to moving to UAE, the Shaikh lived in Montreal, Que for a number of years where he gained familiarity with issues facing Muslims living in the west.

سيتضمن البرنامج مادة مكـثـفة مناسبة كمقدمة للاطلاع المنهجي على علوم الحديث الشريف، المصدر الثاني من مصادر الشريعة. وسيعتمد على كتاب " نزهة النظرفي شرح نــُـخـبـةِ الـفـِـكـَـر" ، وسيتضمن برنامج هذه الدورة أساسيات علم الحديث اصطلاحاً ونقداً .
وستكون هذه الدورة فرصة نادرة لطلبة العلم في الغرب للاستفادة من العلماء كفضيلة الشيخ صلاح الدين الادلبي . ونحض طلبة العلم من خارج المدينة على الحضور والاستفادة.
القسم 1 - يناير 17 & 18 ، 2004

في هذا القسم الاول، سوف تقرأ مقاطع من الكتاب المعتمد، ثم تقدم أمثلة عملية من كتب الحديث المختلفة لاطلاع الطالب على نماذج من الاسانيد وطريقة الاستفادة من علم الرجال للوصول الى الحكم الصحيح عليها.
القسم 2 - يناير 23 - 25 ، 2004

في هذا القسم الثاني، سيـــنتـقـل البحث الى مختارات من الكتاب المعتمد والتي سيعلق عليها الشيخ لأهميتها الخاصة. ثم من خلال البحث العميق فيها سيشرح الشيخ الفهم الصحيح لبعض جوانب علم الحديث وكيفية تطبيقه تطبيقا عملياً صحيحاً.
· كلفة الدورة 30$
· كلفة الطعام، لكل قسم 20$ ، ومن شاء ان يأتي بطعامه، أو أن يشتري طعاماً من الخارج ، فهو بالخيار.

(*) ولد الشيخ في حلب، سوريا، سنة 1950 تقريباً في بيت مسلسل بالعلم والدين، أباً عن جدّ. تـلقى عن علماء كثر في بلدته وغيرها، منهم فضيلة المربّي الشيخ عبد الله سراج الدين، وفضيلة الشيخ العلامة المحدّث عبد الفتاح أبو غدّة والمحدّث عبد العزيز الغـُماري المَـغربي رحمهم الله. حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في علوم الحديث من جامعة القرويين في الرباط- المغرب. ثم درّس فيها سنتين، وبعدها في الرياض في جامعة الامام محمد بن سعود، لمدة عشر سنوات. ثم أقام الشيخ في منتريال عدة سنوات حيث اطلع على احوال المسلمين في الجالية وأفادهم من علمه وأدبه. ثم انتقل الشيخ الى الامارات حيث يدرس الآن علوم الشريعة في احدى مؤسساتها. وللشيخ عدة مطبوعات مفيدة ومميزة وكثير من مؤلفاته لا تزال مخطوطة.
