Here is a great article on the Jizyah Tax. Just so some may understand, I think its important to study all sides of any belief system least you will get caught up in it too strongly and tend to get to biased. Since this website offers a predominantly pro muslim perspective, I hope some of the links I post will be helpful to some of the Non Muslims that want the full truth from all sides.

I have no time to read all these homepages , but I will summerise what is Jezya:

Muslims forced to pay ZAKAT (2.5%) to the state. As Muslims and non-Muslims received the same civil rights and protection from the state, the non-Muslims also forced to pay similar (tax) the state called Jeziya.
In other words: Muslims and non-Muslims paying the same tax to the state but the name of this tax is different because Zakatr is religious (islamic) world.
Zakat (muslims) = Jeziya (non muslims)

I do not see any problem in that?
