Children And Mosque

I am from Pakistan and in here people do one thing that I fail to understand, they make separate rows or Suff for children in mosque.

Please let me know if you brothers and sisters know anything about it.

Sorry, may be I am wrong but I heard from a lot of people that kids should be in the last group?
