Who did you vote for during the past election? Anonymity is okay :D

Amrikkani elections: you can be smarter than your opponent, get more votes than him - and still lose.

Not only did I vote for Dubya, but I also bought the Hat!

PS Gibreel, it's called the Electoral College. I know it's a big word but you might want to read up on it before you say something silly again.

Yeah, whatever you want to call it, buddy.

Uh, no I didn't pick the name. Actually the name 'Electoral College' was written into Federal law in the year 1845. So how about we say, you call it whatever you want to call it, and I'll stick to calling it what it really is, hows that?

Do any of you guys think that maybe you don't like the American Democracy because you have no understanding of it whatsoever? From the complete failure to understand the Electoral College, to school-yard comments like "whoever kisses the most @ss wins" you have clearly demonstrated your ignorance on this issue. I can fully understand your disgruntled attitude at the fact that your political opinions stand at severe odds with the majority opinions, but what I don't get is your transference of this anger onto the system itself. Sure it could stem from the fact that your opinions are so out there that you know you will never have someone elected that even comes close to fulfilling your deranged fantasies about transforming America into an Islamic state, but how does this translate into a disdain for Democracy. I'd bet you would all be quite content with Democracy if the majority opinion and yours were in agreement, right? So at best you are indifferent to democracy and are just clumsily misplacing your anger, while at worst you are blatant hypocrites, so which is it?

I think itīs you who doesnīt understand. Your explanation seems to be that of a little schoolboy.

"Hey guys, itīs called Electoral College." Sure, that makes it ok...

at least in america it is possible for a muslim to one day be head of state. in the uk a muslim (or any other non anglican) can NEVER be the head of state.

There is theory and there is reality.

Gibreel you twit, you quote out of context yet acuse me of schoolboy tactics? Please. Try reading the entire post would ya. I didn't say that just giving it a name makes it OK. Rather it was fairly clear from your post that you have a fairly advanced ignorance of the American election process and the Electoral College in particular. I gave you the name and suggested you "read up on it" lest you air your ignorance on this matter in such a public way again...

This "twit" has done more reading than just his obligatory homework. You, on the other hand, still fail to realize that these things in amrikkka arenīt done "by the book", they include considerable amount of back room work, if you know what I mean.

Hey, at least you agree with me that you are a twit. Further, you are changing the subject, and attempting to divert the issue here. What started off as an attack at the Electoral College is now what? Are you complaining about the re-count now or something? Or do you just like to run at the mouth? You say you are well versed, yet your statements would say otherwise. Sorry Girbreel, it seems from my vantage point that the only thing you are well versed in is making short, cheesy, unsubstantiated statements...

I will not post under this topic anymore because of following reasons:

1. This thread is starting to look like it was taken from general-forum.

2. Especially my first reply was a joke. While I would like to have a serious debate about this, I donīt think this is the right place to do that.

3. This "discussion" is starting to slip into a name calling on your part, seeker.

4. If I continue to reply to your "points", seeker, we will both look stupid.

I will start another thread concerning this matter elsewhere.

Gibreel,

Face it, you said something silly and I called you on it. Sure you could cook up a spurious and hypocritical list of reasons as to why you won't respond any further, or you could simply face up to the fact that your original post was uneducated slander. To tell you the truth, I'm not all that surprised with your decision...

Wow, Nader has over 20%. Probably out of protest or him being an Arab.

I thought no one would vote for him so gave him one....out of protest.
