Bismillah
As-salaamu alaykum
My understanding is that Muslims are commanded by the Holy Qur'an and the Prohet (aws) to be united, not to dispute out of pride or with vehemence or such that it undermines their din and is a distraction from serving Allah.
Astaghfirulah, one could weave a veritable tapestry from the diversities and disputes between various perspectives, many of whom seem to have assumed the thoroughly trad-Christian attitude of believing they (and no other group) are the sole bearers and preservers of the truth. Naturally, they all have their arguments, and I am not yet in a position (intellectually speaking) to consider who is righteous and who is barking mad. But then how many ordinary Muslims really are in this position?
I think it is time Muslims moved beyond any kind of sectarianism, and become pragmatists. We, insha Allah, are all seeking to serve Allah. Few if any of the Muslims groups I have read about (or met) are intent on trotting along a path laid out by shaytan. I would never be presumptious to accuse another Mulsim of such a thing!
The point is, if we all stuck together a little more, maybe we might find a little more light shining upon the Muslim world! Insha Allah.
