Well all of your knowledge of Arabic far surpasses mine, alhamdulillah.

I read all your posts and am like, "whoa." I get out my dictionaries, and still get stuck.

Any five year old Arab could be my mudeer. :)

I will try to translate...doesnt matter if its not in arabic letters :p

I could help in this mas'alah (whats that?) but I am not baaraf kifaayah (whatever that is :p) in the arabic language...ashan (dunno it) to be the head teacher.

is some of that right? lol

Ayah

Mas'alah= responsibility/task
baaraf kifayah= I know enough
ashan= slang for because (I should've said, "li'an'na" which is more proper)

Therefore, the sentence reads, "I can help out in this task, but I don't know enough in the arabic language (grammer-wise) to be a head teacher." (Because I'm still learning myself :) )

Oh my gosh, I can actually see now!! Thanks anna. Now if only I can type the arabic :S Okay, now for the corrections br. abu mubarak:

I meant, Usaa'id (I can help) therefore, instead of it beginning with "ein" it's an "alif." Also, before the daal, there's an ein and not a hamza. Baaraf is spelt: bih, ein, rah, fih... After the "fih" in "kifaayah" there should be an alif. "ashan" is spelt: ein, sheen, alif, noon.. but i think that might be slang (woopsy on me). :banghead: Everything else seems good. :)

If that first word reads as: "Taqaddum" then it means: improvement
Fursah= chance; correct @ the second set meaning break time/relaxation time
Mow'3id= appointment
Yu3eed/yuqarar= to repeat
Yujeeb= to answer
Mul'lakhas= summary
Ij'tima3= meeting
not sure @ noon bag
Yataqaddam bi'talab= to hmmm... submit a request
mashy= walking however, that's not what you wrote; ma3aash= one's living
yep, sif= describe
yehfadh= to memorize
ilm al'hayaa= the study of life= biology :)
khaadim mat'3am= one who helps out at a restaurant; waitor
yep, jaraz = bell, not sure about 1st word
al'kaatibah= hmmm.. i believe that means female writer
yep @ last one

Ermm.. it's a bit hard to interpret some of these words out of context b/c sometimes arabic words have multiple meanings.

~Ayah

22-07-03, 04:42 PM
thank you :)
I thought that, it would help if u could see them in some kind of context aswell...but all you get is the topic title and then the words in arabic. so u jus know it has something 2 do w/ education and work. I dunno why they didnt just include the english words with it aswell really? :rolleyes: woulda been much easier :p
