As-Salaam Alaikum

Im a lost brother from Europe and I am eager to learn my own lost language .

I am doing this throug various ways of which on is Qu'ran , but as a big fan of Arabic modern music I find it easy to learn through such mediums the language .

Now I wonder if anyone can help me with the accurate word for word translation of this next famous song : Youm Wara Youm

Ana raga3 ya aghla habeeb
Ba’ulak la kidda kfaaya
Habeebi mahmakunti bagheeb
Bi albak kunti wayaaya 2x

Youm wara youm
Habeeb ana kunti bahlam beek bi 3aneek
Wa yaa’amastanna alby 2x

Youm wara youm
Habeebi magani noum
Habeebi w’adinni geet
Habeebi w’adinni geet 2x

Ana 3amri ma-kunti bagheeeeb
3ayounak 3ashak gowaaaayaa
kafaya fi el forak ta3zieb
La’eena fi bo3dena nihaya 2x

Youm wara youm
Habeeb ana kunti bahlam beek bi 3aneek
Wa yaa’amastanna alby 2x

Youm wara youm
Habeebi magani noum
Habeebi w’adinni geet
Habeebi w’adinni geet 4x

Yalla’nkunsawa
Habeebi wi tig’ma el hayaa
Na3eesh w’ndu’ agmal hawaa
Ha-yahsan eeey 2x

Youm wara youm
Habeebi bahlam beek bi 3aneek
Wa yaa’amastanna alby

Youm wara youm
Habeebi bah’leek bi 3aneek
Wa yaa’amastanna alby

Youuuum wara youuuum
wara youuuum wara youuuum

Youm wara youm
Habeebi magani noum
Habeebi w’adinni geet
Habeebi w’adinni geet 3x

DAY AFTER DAY

Day after day i am coming back, my dearest love
I'm telling you this is enough
No matter how long i have been away
My heart was always with you

Day after day
My love,i was dreaming
About you,about your eyes
My heart kept waiting

Day after day,my love
I couldn't sleep,my love

I'm back for you,my darling
I'm back for you,my love

You were never far from me
I could always see your eyes in my heart
Enough of the torture of being apart
We found in our seperation despair

Day after day,my love
I kept dreaming of you

Dreaming of your eyes
My heart kept waiting
Day after day,my love
I couldn't sleep, my love

Iam back for you,my darling
I'm back for you,my love

Let's be together, my love
And join our lives
Live together,enjoy life together
What's going to happen

As you see it is translated but I do not know exactly what word means what . I also wonder what "3" would stand for precisely .

Remember I know very little and dont really understand grammar & all the implications , who is willing to help me out ?

I would appreciate it alot .

salaam bro

I think 3 means the letter ayn...I do that sometimes when puttin it in english letters cuz ayn kinda looks like a back2front three :p

anyway, I will try and help with a bit of this...I might not be able 2 do it all

Day after day - yawm (day) warra (after) yawm

i am coming back, - Ana (i) raga3 (return)

my dearest love - ya (like what u say b4 names) aghla (probly means dearest) habeeb (love)

.....couldnt do next bit.....

Youm wara youm - day after day
Habeeb (my love)
ana kunti bahlam (i was dreaming) beek (about u) bi 3aneek (about ur eyes)
Wa (and) yaa’amastanna (probly means waiting) alby (my heart)

i might try a bit more later...its kind of hard cuz I dont know every word in it.

amastanna = ?
alby = ?

Can anybody copy/paste and fill in as far as possible ?

Anna , some questions :

ana kunti bahlam =
I was dreaming ?

beek =
abou you ?

Im not getting that part . Is it something like Be(you) 'ek(about) as some grammatical structure ? So that you dont have to use 2 sperate word ?

bi 3aneek =
about your eyes ?

So "bi" in the same way like beek ? So whats the difference then ?

yaa’amastanna =
waiting ?

Is it something like yaa=on you &
amastanna=waiting ?

alby =
my heart ?

So how are those 2 words ? Is it a split with "by" again like the previous ? So then "Al" would be heart ?

Please y'all dont laugh at my attempts
:(

Masalaam and thank you for your effords .

.: Anna :.

ana = I
kunti = like was...its the past tense of the verb "to be" but in the present u dont say it, so basically it means was
bahlam = i didnt know that word but if the sentence means that its gotta mean dreaming

beek = bi (letter ba on front of a word) means like with, and letter kaaf on the end means yours so if u put it together its kind of like with you / about you...

bi 3aneek = the bi is the same ^ then its 3aneek is for your eyes, and the k stands for 'your' its what you add on to make it a possessive for you.

yaa’amastanna = well I guessed that one from the sentence so I cant explain it lol

alby = nothing to do with the other words with by in :p alb is heart, well I know the word as Qulb (qaaf lam ba) but ive seen it like alb in other arabic songs...for "my" you add a letter ya (ee sound) in the same way as u add the K for 'your'

Please y'all dont laugh at my attempts = I wouldn't....I'm nice :D lol

Masalaam and thank you for your effords = np...I will try and do a little bit more aswell....

How does day after day come in here ? I dont see youm wara youm ? = think theyre just referring to the title

Bi = with
albak = your heart
kunti = i was
wayaaya = I presume it means always

My heart was always with you

Habeebi = my love
magani = i dont know...ma sometimes means like a negative tho, so it could be 'couldnt'
noum = sleep

I couldn't sleep,my love

Ana = I
3amri = ?
ma-kunti = wasnt
bagheeeeb = ?

2)
3ayounak = your eyes
3ashak = ?
gowaaaayaa = ?

La’eena = ? na on the end of a verb is the past tense of us. so I think it is we found, plus the verb should be first anyway
fi = in
bo3dena = na makes it our so I think this one is our separation
nihaya = this one must be despair then

We found in our seperation despair

hope I helped a bit :D

Seems like sis Anna helped out a lot w/this one & left nothing for me to write :P Br. Fouad, you said that you're a lost bro in Europe.. Hmmm.. if you want to learn & better understand arabic, I'd start off by opening the Quran and making an attempt to understand the meanings of the verses. The thing is, a lot of these contemporary arabic songs have slang words in 'em, so that might only help you in learning spoken arabic. Plus, please take no offense when I say this b/c I only mean well, a song like the one that was posted isn't really appropriate for us to discuss together as brothers and sisters in Islam. May Allah forgive me if I've said anything wrong b/c again, I only mean well. Fee amanillah.

Most Anna covered, but just a few words I can try to help with:
"2)
Ba’ulak = ?"

"I am saying to you"'
'Ba' is the colloquial indicator of present and the qaf is pronounced like an alif

"4)
amastanna = ?
"

I think is is trying to say "I am waiting"

'am' being also a colloquial indicator of present tense, and "astana" being "i am waiting"

From which song is this by the way?
