salaam every1 :)
This is some GCSE vocab from the sylabus but I'm not sure what it means...(they dont put english on the vocab list pages, how useful :rolleyes: :p ) I might have 2 post more another time cuz I havent gon thru the whole list yet. I will do it in the holidays inshaallah. Anyway.....if anyone knows these words or u could look a couple up that would b cool :D (i cant use arabic dictionarys on my comp cuz of the text support problem thing)
some of them I think I know but not sure so want 2 check
يلاحظ - i think it means 'notices'
يسمى
تهبط » الطاءرة - think it means descends...
يدير قرص الهاتف - think it means operates telephone disk or something
يقود
مكتب الوداءع - some kinda office?
يستمر - continues?
يصف - describes?
درجات - desgrees?
ملهيات - theme parks?
يطل على - overlooks?
يسافر متطفلا - travels something?
ليترف على
يملاء تماما بالوقود
يحزم

I agree w/the translations you made attempts on. I think they're all right. However, as far as the ones that you left blank, which I'm assuming is b/c you don't know what they mean, well, neither do I, lol :) That's some pretty detailed stuff. Actually, the 2nd word, "yusam'mee" means: "to name," or depending on the context it could mean, "he is saying bismillah." For instance, when one wants to ask, "Did you say bismillah" (before eating), you'd say, "Hal anta (or antee) sam'mayt (ee)?" Good luck on the rest sis.

Hudood: Boundries
Lil'ijaar: For rent
Yast'ajir: He rents, or "to rent"
Yamoot: He dies, or "to die"
At'yab at'tahiyyat: The best of greetings
Ya'mur: He passes/goes thru or "to pass/go thru"
Yistilim: He borrows or "to borrow"
Yuqaabil: He meets or "to meet"
Ta'kheer: lateness
Raml: sand (I think :confused: )
Play room is right :)
Yastahim: He crowds or "to crowd"
Yabqa: He stays or "to stay"

Are you sure it's y'uu'qaf and not just plain yuqaf, without the "waw" after the "yih" because "yuqaf" without the "waw" means "he stands" or "to stand"
Yarkin: He puts aside or "to put aside"
Yudeer: I think that means "He's in charge of or he watches" (or to be in charge of/to watch)
I think the general public one is right!

it definately says yoowqif with a waw and 3rba not ghurfa on my vocab list...i mean edexcel coulda made a mistake :rolleyes: but thats what it says!

to displace, or transfer, i think.
if you add taa marbuta to the end of it, it becomes 'promotion' as in school.

ohh yeah I think its to displace and move etc cos I know the word now, it means public transport :D
didnt know the promotion word tho :)
but neway, alot of this vocab I was having problems with before, I'm alright with it now :) so alhamdulillah I have improved :D
