I wasn't here for some time so i wasn't able to check the puzzles you had posted. Is there by any chance that there's a condition for him not to leave any of the gold nuggets unattended. Because you can simply leave one, take two (weighing200 pounds), leaving them there and coming back to reclaim your third one.

i'm assuming it's not that simple

I wouldn't leave a 1 pound gold nugget unattended, would you? weren't not in kansas, anymore. we're in castles-on-spires territory (aka the ghetto).

while that answer works, it receives no accolades.

Well, if he is a magaicain/illusionist then a world of options are avail to him.

He can leave nugget behind and make it look like a heap of rubble cos he's an illusionist, and then go back for it later.

He can walk accross the bridge juggling with the nuggets so that he's not holding all 3 at the same time.

if he's a amgician he can make the nuggets just fly along with him.

He has a world of options if he's a magician.
