well i've got the obligatory Hans Weir, and it's really good, being organised by the roots is very good, cause you get much more of a feel for the different meanings from the same root, plus it's actually easier to look up, cause there's less combinations of letters (but that point is probably only relevent or even noticable if you're dyslexic like me  )

yeah actually I did think the root organisation wd b better 4 those reasons... how big is the dictionary? is it like a really large fat one? :D mine is pretty small... & does it explain the different uses of the words given? cos in mine it doesnt explain it just gives them all, so i hav 2 look them up again in the english side and sorta work out that way which one is most appropriate :banghead:
for french and german they have these "collins easy learning dictionaries" which are only up to GCSE level, but they are really nice & clear, i wnt an arabic one like that, only bigger :p
my dad reckons i shud email my course teacher & ask them wat is the best one, then he'll get me it insha allah wen we go 2 london :D dno if ne1 will b in the uni during summer holidays, but maybe?

there is usually staff and lecturers in uni during the holidays, because they are usually doing research as well as teaching undergrads, and the research goes on all the time. My mum is a secretary at a university, and she works all through the university holidays (except for the holidays she books of course :D )
