View Full Version : Persistence

I persist to resist the temptations
With One True God as my guide
I cannot hide from Him my inclinations
So ask Him instead to advise…
me through guidance of His Light and Revelations
Through His brightest star
A Messenger for all of the Nations
Those to come and those who hide
No longer will I retreat from fight
Struggle through defeat and plight
Grab the rope with my teeth and bite
Hold fast to the Truth!
Yeah that’s right
Hold fast to the Truth!
Yeah that’s right

I ask Allah to let my eyes rain
From fear of Him alone
Let the freedom from this life be my undertone
Let my prayers be in sync like a metronome
Let there be for me a final home
Ameen Ya rabilA’lameen!
Ameen Ya rabilA’lameen!

I ask Allah to shower His Mercy
Let my soul be dampened
So I may never be thirsty
Let the armies advance
So I may die as worthy
Ameen Ya rabilA’lameen!
Ameen Ya rabilA’lameen!

I ask Allah for the good in everything
To memorize and relay as a scribe
That I may convey His signs
Which man denies and hides
When it’s evident to their feel and eyes
One Day they will be surprised
That day they will plead and cry!
That day they will plead and cry!

“All praise is due to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light; yet those who disbelieve set up equals with their Lord.” (6:1)

“The seven heavens declare His glory and the earth (too), and those who are in them; and there is not a single thing but glorifies Him with His praise, but you do not understand their glorification; surely He is Forbearing, Forgiving.” (17:44)

continued thought (i remind myself)...

To persist with patience and uphold a moral of authenticity
Given the situation you are in
Hold fast to the rope of truth
For its fibres are weakened by that which entails retribution
But strengthened through that which prevails disillusion
Learn to understand with open arms
Closed ones do not embrace
Also ask and question to the point of equanimity
When you feel it, you will be satisfied with the answer
Race not the clutches of time
Instead harness it with paced deeds
Flesh draws blood
And so too does Heart
Not to be seen but felt
Not to be heard but dealt
With a blow, it carries the horizon
Balanced with justice, it is aggravated through sighing

"A similar (favour have ye already received) in that We have sent among you an Messenger of your own, rehearsing to you Our Signs, and sanctifying you, and instructing you in Scripture and Wisdom, and in new knowledge.

Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and reject not Faith.

O ye who believe! seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere.

And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah. "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.

Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere,

Who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return":-

They are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance." (2:151-157)
