Breakfast is, literally, the meal in which you "break your fast." Traditionally, it's eaten in the morning, but I've been calling my first meal of the day "breakfast" for years, whether it's pancakes at dawn or lentil stew at 10 pm.

As ever, Jesse

I love BREAKFAST..so let me list my favorites.

1.Eggs, Scrambled with Seasoning, Black pepper, vegetables and sometimes meat or shrimp along with turkey or beef sausage eaten with a fresh piece of french bread and accompanied by a side of cold, cold, water...it is amazing...

2.Fresh, flaky french bread with butter that is cold and accompanied by a drink of folger's coffee with sugar and cream and milk...

3.Corn Beef Sandwhich in a Fresh Piece of Fresh, French Bread accompanied by some cold Cream soda

Btw, I found an embryo in my scrambled eggs awhile ago.

:nervous: That's why I always get someone else to crack the eggs before..in a plate... plus I was watching a programme few years back..some Jewish man was cracking eggs ...and he was taking little red bits out the eggs...i think speck of blood or something? :( So now we always make sure to do the same...but it never crossed my mind before to check it :o

Did you eat the scrambled egg then?

I'm ex-Navy. I've had everything from Jamaica Blue Mountain to the bilge water that gets brewed in the engine rooms on unrep oilers. Folgers isn't quite as bad as the bilge water, but it's awfully close.

Anyway, you should always have breakfast. Always.

you should try eating slow releasing Energy foods. a habit you need to build – if you have the option try eating porridge/ otibix/whole grain bread with eggs. this will reduce your hunger throughout the day. especially during Ramadan.

i never leave my house without breakfast, usually have a bowl of porridge.

I'm quite bad with breakfast, I am the stereotypical student :o Usually don't have any, or when I'm going to uni I grab something to eat on the train (and it's usually never healthy!) when I'm at home for long stretches it's different, I get to eat shredded wheat (and put honey on it :D) at my leisure - ice cold milk  and if I'm in the mood, I make eggs :hidban: (rarely)

It's all about weetabix :inlove: we haven't had them in the house for ages but by far m fav, but they have to be eaten within 5 mins of pouring milk or you'll get porridge. :nono:

Assalamu Alaikum,

I agree whats with the anti-croisantism discrimation and bicuitist hate? :(

I either go for either one of the following combo depending on time and mood:

1. Tea (one spoon sugar with non-skimmed milk) with toast (strawberry jam and/or butter sometimes).
2. Tea (one spoon sugar with non-skimmed milk) with croisant (plain not warm).
3. Tea (one spoon sugar with non-skimmed milk) / biscuit (jammy dodgers/ custard cream/ waffers please).
4. Cereal (rice crispies/ corn flakes/ coco pops- anything really).

Nothing too heavy.

When we were little (some still are alhamdulillah) our mothers would get up early (long before we arose) and make us warm breaky and wake us to get ready for skool. Then they'd watch over us at the table side and make sure we were full before walking us all the way to Primary, subhan'allah she did that every single day for years for each one of her children.

May Allah (swt) make our mums of those in Paradise, some day joining the company of the Mothers of the Believers (ra)- Ameen.

Wa Alaikum wa Assalam,

Aaaaaw masha'allah even though your a big boy now your mumsy still makes parathas for you? Subhan'allah thats just way too sweet masha'allah. I pray your mother has a son called Sulaiman who makes a lot of du'a for her always and never displeases her insha'allah.

I never get bored of eating the same thing, if i had peanut butter 3 times a day everyday then i'd be more than happy.

Necessity is the mother of invention, quite a true quote i must say, due to 'necessity' i learnt many things,

1: icing sugar tastes like sherbet
2: certain cereals don't need milk, water does the job as well
3: most cereals can be eaten straight out of the box without anything added
4: icing sugar can be used as a replacement for sugar in your tea
5: black tea doesn't taste all that bad
6: i think i should stop there :|

Scrambled egg or omelette.

Sometimes.

Other times... other breakfast foods.

I don't really eat breakfast...it's usually a full mug of hot latte with a few biscuits and romani cheese, maybe I'll throw in a fruit if I'm in the mood. If I'm having breakfast with the family then it's usually foul+tahina with lebanese bread...or shakshouka (basically tomato/vege omlette) with bread :D
